There is no need to waste assets on a C that doesn’t move the needle at this point. History has shown we can fill that role (if needed) when we ready to contend.

And lol at multiple posters suggesting Bagley. We already have 2 centers better than him (and that’s not including Siakam, OG and Barnes, who would all be better C options than Bagley).

We need a 3rd big. Whether it be injuries or when Precious looks like he has never played basketball before. A 3rd big is a pretty glaring need right now.

5 positions on the court and you need to spread the wealth offensively. Unless you want guys like Barnes and OG going back to role player 3&D status, then getting an all-star caliber C doesn't make much sense. Poetl is a good suggestion because that's the type of super role-playing C that's similar to what Birch provides but in more minutes, but it'll take good assets to get him. The season is about development regardless of how they do in the playoffs if they make it and the C position is the one that can be considered the "weakest link" on offence. Though we can all agree that Birch is SOLID (that should be his nickname) and Precious shows glimpses and has potential that needs development time.

I would try to flip Boucher for Bagley. Both earn around the same and are on the last year of their contract, but Boucher is looking for a pay raise while Bagley can probably be had for a cheaper contract. Kid still has tons of potential and our development system may be able to unlock it.

From what I understand Bagley is atrocious on defense....

Yeah, I'm definitely talking to Indiana (and/or anyone who wants Dragic for a three way deal) to see if they have any interest in trimming their salaries a bit by adding Boucher.

Definitely wouldn't mind Turner but I'm not sure we're the best trading partners with Indiana. They would be looking for a PF so they could start Sabonis at C so unless we're willing to deal OG, SIakam or Barnes, I'm not sure there's a deal to be had.

PF is a very hard slot to fill with quality talent nowadays and looking around the NBA, I can't see any other player that would be available, even from a 3rd team.

He's pretty atrocious on offense as well.

Nobody would care about him if he wasn't drafted so high.

Really too bad Masai wasn't able to get Jarrett Allen during FA cause he's only 23 and beasting right now.

Hell to the no no, Turtle was holding this team back with his low BBIQ and below average athleticism I'd rather us taking our chances with Precious\Birch than having Jonas back.

Watched the kings /pelicans game last night and he’s such a liability on D it’s ridiculous. Honestly with Fred, Trent, pascal ,OG and Scottie we barely have enough shots to go around as is. I think khem is a really good 5 for us. We need the best defensive C that we can get to erase mistakes and get 2nd chances and clean up misses not someone that’s gonna take away from other guys. Honestly I think turner is interesting because he blocks shots but he can’t play on the perimeter or switch and he’s actually a poor 3 point shooter

Thomas Bryant? Though he is hurt currently. Was good last here before the injury.

I think we need to find a way to get an actual 7 footer to handle Embiid, Jokic etc. I'm genuinely terrified of what Embiid is going to do to us lol

why do we need a center? the position has been devalued so much and unless you can get a jokic, embid or ayton we don't need to spend that much on that position.
you need good versatile bigs who can switch in the playoffs and birch and precious are fine imo. Precious will have to get a lot better, but in the playoffs we will play Barnes at the 5 for sure so we can switch everything and negate the shooting woes.

Theis makes a bit more than $8M. Dragic makes $19M and Boucher makes $7M. Dragic for Theis won't work without Houston sending more our way.

The one potential show stopper is Theis' contract. It runs for 3 years (well the 4th year is a team option). Do we want to commit $8M a year to him for another 3 years? He's not young either. He's already 29 years old.
