Bill Walton was a rebel's rebel and not sure he is the NBA's favourite basketball personality and the feeling is mutual as he does college hoops. He probably cannot stand 3 pointer ball nor entitled players. He was nearly crippled in basketball so I think Luke marches to his own drum.

This is all on Sac management. They are a non-stop turnstile. We can thank them forever for the John Salmons, Grievous Vasquez, Patrick Patterson and Chuck Hayes trade. It turned our entire franchise around by some miracle of veteran defensive depth. If we want to know why we struggle (suck) right now it is because we have so little vetrran experience and have lost our ability to shut teams down or more to the point sustain physically a defensive presence.

Sacramento has had 18 coaches since the franchise relocated to California. Luke’s winning percentage (.431) is 2nd best among that 18, following Mike Malone (.458, 11-13).

Considering how flawed that roster is and has been, he’s done okay.

Kings 1st round since drafting Cousins in 2010:

Jimmy Fredette 10th overall (trade for Bismack)
Thomas Robinson 5th overall
Ben Mclemore 7th overall
Nik Stauskas 8th overall
Willie Cauley Stein 6th overall
Georgios Papaguannis 13th overall (trade for Chriss)
DeAaron Fox 5th overall
Marvin Bagley 2nd overall

No franchise can survive this type of draft ineptness. Bust after bust in the top 10 with the exception of Fox. We will see how Haliburton and Mitchell, their most recent picks, turn out.

Masai has done much better with 2nd rounders/undrafted FAs than the Kings have done with top 10 picks.

Some teams are just meant to be farming teams for growing talent for the rest of the "big boys" of the league. Sacramento and New Orleans are such teams.

Problem for Sacramento, they don't develop talent either. They draft bust after bust.

That fan vomiting beside the Utah bench perfectly captures the Sacramento Kings franchise.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Walton was a bad hire to begin with. The problem with the Kings is their ownership, flat out.

It's honestly more Vlade being an absolute atrocious GM.

Horrible drafting with multiple top 7 picks. Fox was there best draft pick and Haliburton was alright as well.

2014 - Staukas over guys like Lavine, Warren and Nurkic
2015 - Stein over guys like Turner and Booker
2018 - Bagley over Trae and Luka

With that that team in disarray, can we poach one of their big men and rehabilitate him?

Their bigs outside of Holmes are pure garbage. Birch or Precious would be a huge upgrade for them over any bench big they have.

They have really done an atrocious job of building a forward/front court rotation. Holmes and Barnes are good but they thought they could get by with Len, TT and Harkless playing key minutes? No wonder Luke got fired.

I don't follow too closely but it seems like Gentry is playing Alex Len a lot since he took over

In 2018-19 the Kings were one of the most improved teams in the NBA, finished 9th in the West, would've finished 6th in the East. Then they inexplicably fire the coach because apparently he was "too hard" on the players. I guess the country club atmosphere hasn't quite worked out like they thought it would.
