How much for Harrison Barnes?

Dragic, Flynn, and some sort of pick? Top 25 protected 1st?

We shore up our two biggest flaws by acquiring a starting caliber center and giving us guard help off the bench. Also a good move for the future as Vassell is a promising young mid-tier prospect on a rookie scale contract. I guess the Spurs only do this if they really like OG. But a Dejounte/White/OG core is a nice perimeter to build around

Then maybe follow that trade up with something like Dragic + Boucher + two 2nd round picks for Bogdan + Dieng

Bogdan once again adds to our bench depth and I think is a perfect fit with our current roster as a 6th man who can play heavy minutes if guys like Barnes or GTJ struggle in the playoffs. He'd essentially be our backup point guard, and he's a solid playmaker so in a pinch I think that could work. Going from Boucher to Dieng is a downgrade talent wise but Dieng is bigger and would be a nice depth piece, maybe not a rotation guy

FVV / Bogdan
GTJ / Vassell / Bogdan
Barnes / Vassell / Bogdan
Siakam / Precious
Poeltl / Dieng / Precious

Not sure what these moves would mean for our cap space next season, if there's a huge negative future cap implication from these moves then maybe figure out a minor trade or two to shed some money

These moves give us a better chance to compete right now, without giving up any of our future, other than OG but again getting Vassell in return, getting Bogdan, Poeltl would still let us have a young roster we can go forward with

3 potential bench perimeter scorers

Bogdan (29yo) 12.5p - 4r - 3a - .9s on 42/80/36

Dinwiddie (28yo) 13p - 5r - 6a - .6s on 38/81/31

Harris (27yo) 12p - 2r - 2a - .9s on 44/84/38

There seems to be a feeling on the trade board that Cj might be available for expiring a only. Would you guys trade for him. Dragic Boucher birch could get the deal done.

I would do it in a heartbeat. Not sure what Sac is looking for though.

trading 2 guards when they already have Hali, Fox, Mitchell. Probably Dragic, Svi, Yuta. lottery protected 1st. along those lines. if they want to throw in Bagley, sure, we'll take him too.

CJ coming in to be Gary's Backup would be something.

I wouldn't. That is a massive contract to take on for a guy that is almost 31 and doesn't defend well. I think we should target younger guys that can improve and be part of what we're building. If we are going to trade for a mercenary, it should be one with a shorter contract.

If the trade was actually expiring salary only with no picks then I do that trade all day. He’d have to come off the bench. He can be that scorer off the bench we need and can handle the ball/playmake a bit too.

CJ f'n McColloch? Off the bench? You'd have to think about it, although I've never been a particular fan. He's also a really smart guy too, so would probably do whatever was necessary to fit in, like Marc did.

But salary matching and staying under the tax threshold would be tough. We'd have to send out four contracts, and then replace three of the roster spots with buy-out FAs for ~$600K each. Not easy.

I think Bobby and Masai might go the opposite. Instead of adding picks to get the player they like they might take on more salary to get picks.

They might look to add a another year or 2 years and take on maybe a mid 1st rounder and a 2nd. Basically look at getting another shot at adding talent.

You bundle those picks and your own and maybe you just let into the late lottery for someone you really like and pair them with Scottie growth.

I think they still keep Flynn and see if they can salvage him after another offseason and development in our system for another year.

Harrison Barnes is def an intriguing target. Salary wise it works with Dragic's expiring (Plus Flynn).

He's def got the ball-handling ability. Solid shooter. Fits the Raptors heigh criteria.

Provides similar skillet to what we have already. Long 3+d plus defender. A young vet now as well. Can score a bit. Provides redundancy if any of our 3 long guys miss any time. Plus allows masai to double down and see if the long lineup can still work in the playoffs.

6'8 guys with long wingspan and athletic as well. Has improved decision making and shot making since leaving the warriors. Very intriguing lineup either off the bench or as a starter.

agreed. If Nurse is just going to stick Siakam/Barnes/OG with ball handling duties while FVV is off the floor, sprinkled with 6'9" Banton, might as well have another wing player that can "replace" Siakam/Barnes/OG on the wing.

All day every day. Boucher, Dragic, Svi (waive), Bonga (waive) and 2023 2nd pick for CJ McCollum and Cash

PG FVV - CJ - Banton
SG Trent - CJ - Champ
SF OG - Barnes - Yuta
PF Barnes - Siakam
C Siakam - Precious/Birch

Wow New Orleans offered a lot!

Pelicans last offer to Blazers was: Satoransky, Hart, Hayes, Murphy, 2022 Lakers FRP, 2023 Pelicans FRP for C.J. McCollum, Per NBA Source.

Blazers want more assets but didn’t specify who.
