This team is flawed - poor half court offense, inconsistent shooting, bad bench, lack of rim protection,...the list goes on. We may end up making a mini-run against mediocre teams but it won't change my perspective on this team.
Take advantage of the parity in the NBA to secure a high draft pick this year and bounce back next year. What's the point of making the playoffs and being first round fodder again? We've won a championship in the past, have higher aspirations.
I said wait and see because I find the poll options a little restrictive.
What does tank mean? Who do we trade? etc?
I can't see us getting a high high high pick without trading Siakam, I'm not sure I want to do that.
Sure, the definition of tanking can be different among posters. For me, it's just to put yourself in a position to secure a high draft pick (ex. top 10). Ideally we end up in the top 7 with a higher chance of moving into the top 4 but worst case fall down to still be within top 10.
Some posters are advocating for a full tear down, but I don't think it's necessary with this group. If we trade Gary and Fred, I think we'll be bad enough. It'll be hard to make up for that level of scoring/shooting provided what we get back are mostly prospects/filler/picks.
And I don't necessarily see 1 and 3 being that much different in terms of ^ explanation. We're currently losing as it is and may end up with a top 10 pick without doing anything.
If Trent is definitely going and has indicated he doesnt' want to resign, trade him.
If FVV is opting out, trade him.
If FVV is opting in, maybe you let him rebuild a bit of value? (if he can).
Siakam trade only if you get a monster offer. Same as OG.
Barnes is really the only 'untouchable'. though I never think anyone is untouchable.
