The Wizards are one of the three teams in the NBA that is an embarrassment to lose to. Nothing should be taken from this game. It was an easy watch against a 5-25 team.

Move Yak, probably the only other desirable guy teams would want. Dennis works with that contract and off the bench.

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

I know this was Washington BUT this is exactly the rotation most of us wanted.
- Schroder running the 2nd unit to replace Flynn was common sense from the start.
- Porter needs to play every game he's available.
- McDaniels and Precious can flip flop as the 9th man

We have struggled even against crappy teams all year so it was great to see them FINALLY take care of business.

Green font?

They beat the 5-25 Wizards

Let’s not lose sight of the big picture. Roster is still very much flawed and without direction.

Love the defense from him as well.

He gets stuck at the FT like when driving, needs to develop a rip through, a euro, and a lil pull up.

With the point guard responsibilities it will allow for more pick and roll so that should give him plenty of reps.
He still has to get better as an isolation player because his first step is not as quick as pascal’s but he can learn the stutter rip and simple crossover combos from him.

All positive stuff from him this season.

Do not be tricked by one game against the Wizards. Porter Jr. is washed. McDainels sucks. If they commit to Barnes at PG that will be fun and get Flynn out of the way. There is no reason to think that anything that happened in this game would translate unless they play the Pistons and Spurs the rest of the year.

Yep. Before people start crapping on the win/new starting lineup because it came against the Wizards, the way we played tonight is something we should be doing most nights. I'm not saying we're going to score 130+ and shoot almost 60% from the field while holding the opponent to ~100 points, but some of this team's biggest issues (outside shooting, taking the ball out of Scottie's and Siakam's hands too much, unbalanced lineups/bad rotations, etc.) can be somewhat solved by the simple starting lineup change that Darko finally made tonight. The consistent defensive effort is something we need to see more of as well. Our defence was rough to start the game (aided by some brutal officiating) as well as most of the 3rd, but overall this was one of our best defensive efforts since mid-November. I'm interested to see how we'll come out on Friday and if Darko will stick with this lineup now. It seems obvious he should, but who knows.

On another note, yet another dominant game from Scottie. I wish we didn't extend the lead quite so much though because I was 2 Scottie points away from a big payout.

I was thinking this when watching Flynn struggle to get the ball across the halfcourt line

43 assists. The most on the road in franchise history. One assist short of tying franchise record.

The other thing I would say is - McDaniels essentially plays like Dick did when he was struggling. Let's replace McDaniels with Dick if Aichuwa is out of the rotation. Porter should be playing everyday - he just makes the game easier for his teammates with his IQ.

Like I said, I know it's Washington but we have struggled to beat crappy teams all year and we did it decisively today. This is the .500 team that we expected all year so I'm not thinking we are much more than that.

Alsp, Porter is a high IQ player who can still shoot, rebound well and play defense around the basket. He is cooked in terms of being a perimeter defender but he's still a valuable bench piece simply because he knows his role.

We’re 3-8 in December without any major injuries. We beat a hapless and hopeless Wizards team. This starting lineup should win the games they’re supposed to win, but Boston will show us the difference between a top tier team and ours.

The new lineup will motivate Masai to restart the evaluation process, give the new rotation 20-25 games extra before any trades
