Hear me out: Rich goes out there and tells the world Masai loves Bronny, Minny gives us the 57th pick for free, and we pick Rich's client there?

Either he did Masai a favor by keeping him on the board and steering a pick toward us OR Masai did another solid for Rich and drafted his player instead of getting him as an UDFA.

We have a fun and crazy summer league roster just based on the draft. Chomche will be a fun watch. We need emergency pods from all the Raptors beat guys like Will Lou, Blake, Doug and old guys. What a day!

Or they just didnt want to risk not getting him as an UDFA and decided to draft him instead

It's likely Nothing. Minny is already paying a bunch of tax. They weren't going to offer anyone here a guaranteed contract, and whoever they wanted is probably available to them as an UDFA in that two way spot. This is probably a favor for Masai or Rich Paul to get Chomche drafted.

Even if it's a "future pick", it probably never conveys.

Yeah, because we've had tons of success with 2nd round picks in recent years. 2nd round picks silently comes and goes. Disappears without much of a trace. I mean, I hope a few of these guys develop into long-term pieces but I don't have high hopes because you might lose focus if there are too many guys you are trying to develop at once.

Raps always get an UDFA or two. These were probably the guys they would have targeted there anyways. I suspect we don't see us singing any UDFAs.

Gotta say, I'm more intrigued with this pick than I am with the guy we picked at 45.

Interesting that they've made moves in what's considered a weak draft. Guess prices get cheaper as a result so easier to trade.

Some of these 2nd rounders are going pan out, hell Walters could bust and be out of the league in a couple of years. But I think the biggest steal of this offseason is Davion Mitchell who will contribute from day one and be in starting lineup by years end.
