What a generational run we had with Masai, he truly transformed the Franchise to a World Class team and got us a championship. He truly deserves his own Banner next to Vince’s for what he’s done for the Franchise, City and Country.

Thanks Masai for everything. Changed the franchise and brought us the chip. Raps will be lucky to ever find another guy anywhere close to as respected and important as him.

Greatest sports executive in Toronto Sports history, maybe even Canadian history. He saw the vision and executed it. If it weren't for Masai we wouldn't have a practice facility, a G-League team, a proper scouting department (shutters at the Jim Kelly days), top notch medical team etc. He brought so much to this organization, but the biggest thing he brought wasn't a championship, it was the believe that the Raptors belonged on the big stage. We weren't a joke or an afterthought of the league. He gave this team and city the respect it deserved after so long.

Dude I'm tearing up just writing this man, Masai made me believe this team could do big things and achieve so much. I can't forget the work he put into Africa and to make it important on the NBA and world stage.

Thank you Masai for everything you've done for Toronto and for Canada, we'll miss you dearly!

To the haters:Don’t be mistaken this going to be big news, and it is all warranted and well deserved.

Thank you Masai for what you’ve done, and what you stand for!

Strong vision, embodied the right things and hired great people.

Heck of a run, atleast in the 2010’s.

Salute to Masai. That Championship parade was the craziest event I've ever been too.

But we have to be honest, he doesn't have the mojo anymore. The league caught on to his development style and he didn't adjust.

I've been watching the Raptors since the Vince Carter era, and I never thought I'd live to see the day we’d win a championship. Thank you, Masai, for making the dream a reality.

We just lost the most important person on our team.

30 NBAteams
10 teams have never won a championship
8 teams have 1 championship - we are in this group because of Masai
7 teams have 2-3 championships
5 top teams have 53 championships between them - Celtics, Lakers, Curry, Jordan, Duncan

With Masai, I could see us getting to the next group of teams before he retires. Without Masai, it is unlikely I will be alive when the next championship is won by the Raptors. If Webster and Tolzman go too, and Rogers puts his guy in place, the tankers will get their wet dream as we will be bottom feeders for a long time with great lottery odds every year for a long time.

The best. I'm an old dude, and I suffered through every single garbage GM in this franchise's history. Masai was a gift. Posters who cut him down — and who've only known him as our GM/VP — are in for a painful reality check.

Masai, for some teams, will probably be an upgrade.

Honestly there's an argument that he was the greatest leader in Canada over the past decade.

I really don't think there's anyone else in business, politics, media, etc. that has had the same presence he's had.

Best GM we had in franchise history overall but all good things must come to an end.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

As much as it was time for him to go, you need to put his banner in the rafters in a few years. He had a knack for finding diamonds in the rough in the draft and the Kawhi and Gasol trades will almost certainly remain the best trades in franchise history for decades to come and thankfully we had somebody with the guts to make those deals at the time. A lot of GMs, especially in the case of Kawhi, would not have.

He’s gone but his accomplishment in 2019 will live on in this city.
One flew east, one flew west, one flew over the cuckoo’s nest.
