even though he was injured last season he still averaged 2 BPG.

I'm sure a change of scenery in TO and the fact he's feeling healthy....WE will see a different JO in TO

JO contract year after next will be well motivated!!!

We are giving up way to much for a precieved 20/10 guy coming into the decline of his career. This trade is way to onesided and in the end we might be parting ways with 2 young stars for a player that might retire in 3/4 years. Sorry but TJ/Rasho plus a salary filler aka Joey is more than enough and quite frankly, a healthy and productive TJ probably could net us JO after an injury free season.

If Jo stays healthy, if he has recharged batteries and if he understands his role with this team, we might be able to get 2 productive seasons from him and then have major cap space to play with. Still though, 2 much is being given up.

I'm hoping they buy a pick or something to shore up that 2 guard position.

Now we've gone from having 1 guy that can create to having no guys. Oh well, at least JO plays on the opposite block of Bosh.

I LOVE JO!!! Before D-Wade, CB and CP3 came into the league he was my favourite player and he's still one of my favourites. JO is a monster. I still remember the game when he dropped 55. If he drops a few pounds his knee should hold up. Another plus is that BC said that if he trades the pick he's gonna try to get another one so it's all good. JO and CB could turn out to be great and if it doesn't JO will be a free agent the same time as Bron, CB and D-Wade. It's a beautiful thing imo if you can wait, if it doesn't pan out.

He had 2+ blocks per game only playing 28 minutes.

17 pick is always a crabshoot and really you can only expect the likes of Graham there.

To be honest, what exactly are we losing here? TJ/Oneal injury risk cancel each other out. TJ is redundant on this team. Capspace is not a big issue because he is an expiring after this year. So all we are giving up is 17th pick for a guy who has potential to be All-Star and covers several of our weakness.

I think BC will for sure try and acquire a late first rounder/second round pick there's a reason he's been calling in these players for workouts. Maybe he can pry away Seattle's pick.

Me too. I doubt he'd do this if he didn't have an upgrade planned for the 2 or 3. But we don't have many assets left. I wonder if he'll trade Bargnani?

Things will have to go pretty well but what I LOVE about this deal is it leaves the Raptors with Bargnani, Moon, Humphries, Kapono and possibly Parker (if the team is getting a star SG back) to trade for another quality player to complement Bosh, O'Neal and Calderon. Would the Nets take Bargs, Kapono, Parker and a future first for Vince? I don't like that deal but it's the kind of thing I'd like to see something similar happen and even if it doesn't I think the Raps will win more than 47 games for the first time in their history this coming season.

What is "too much" about it?

A pick that most of us here think gets you a useful rotation guy... 5-8th in your team, if you're lucky. The upside guys look low % to be great, and the rest are just meh. To the point where a lot of the guys we like will get taken before we pick.

I like Ford as much as anyone, but we're dealing one of them and he's the one with the injury-risk.

Rasho is a nice player for the year, but a big expiring contract. And we're dealing him to get an even BIGGER expiring contract for the following season. So consider that extending it a year.

And the other piece will be a throw in like Joey or Baston or whoever.

Yes, O'Neal is a risk, but if he returns to All-star form we make out like bandits.
Raptors Season Ticketholder since the 2000 playoffs, through all the lows... build to the championship high... to Tampa and back again.
RIP The Hater - we miss you.
