Lol that's what scared me from the OP. If Casey is part of getting ED, we'll have to pass.

Re: The Ed Davis Thread (Bring Him Home)
Other bigs I would rather have than Ed who I do like.
Nicolson is getting less than 20 minutes behind Jason Maxwell and when Big Baby comes back behind him.
He is a offensive force and improving defensively but obviously not liked by the coach.
Acy + NYK 16 1st
When contracts of Gay, Amir and Fields up look at getting TT he is improving every year strong defensively and no worse than a 3rd option on a very good team.
Jonas, TT , Nicolson would look very good together.

A solid starter is special?
Move on. I think our future 4 should be able to stretch the floor somewhat and perhaps be more of a 3/4.

He's not going to want to come back after we abandoned him for that chucker.

Our rotation would be really sexy. All hustle bigs who can score...think about it.

No idea.
He's a decent rotation player, but is not worth thinking about when he's on another team.
The reason the Grizzlies didn't want to negotiate with him isn't because they are cheap, it's because they have no interest in him. He's a dime a dozen above average scrub in the NBA.

Re: The Ed Davis Thread (Bring Him Home)
Ed is probably the most overrated player in Raptors history. Don't get me wrong, I like Ed, but he's not some all-star everyone envisions him to be. He's a good bench player, maybe a decent starter in his prime, nothing more.

This.
Its weird, most of the Tankers complain about mediocrity, yet they want us to get Ed Davis...
It really shows that most of the posters here don't know what they want.

Wanting a player, on a reasonable deal has no correlation to tanking, especially when that player is still relatively young and had shown good production (on great efficiency) with signs of improvement when given PT.

Re: The Ed Davis Thread (Bring Him Home)
I stopped reading after "he has solid starter potential...especially on the defensive end".
All he can do is swat away a few balls. I don't think he could guard Wayne Embry.

Ed Davis is Darrell Arthur, more or less, and Arthur is a reserve big.

Re: Official thread for hypothetical FA and D-league ideas
The thing with Ed Davis is that he isn't the type of guy great teams build around;
He is a nice piece on a winning team (think PJ Brown).
The problem is that Davis stands to be paid far too much money for the role he will likely end up providing.
