Pick up a D leaguer if you need to. Heck, pick up Mike James.

That's even better. But I think trading him improves our record more.

Except Jose Calderon doesn't have a 10.5M expiring contract

Bulls got to him first.

As bad as he`s been he still has more court vision than Bayless.

He got that detail wrong, but sounds like there's some serious interest out there in Jose, maybe enough to get something done?

Trading Calderon for a pick would be great IMO. Gets his salary off the books for next year, and this year having Bayless/Barbosa as our PGs would really help with the tank IMO. We're not making the playoffs this year anyways, may as well improve our pick (we'll be worse without a real PG), get some sort of piece for the future, and improve our salary situation for next year. Short term pain, but long term gain.

Well he was almost traded for Tyson Chandler when everyone thought he had no value. I would be surprised if he doesn't get traded by the deadline.

He's a scoring PG. A scoring PG is not a PG for Toronto media and fans.

He was 6'5.5" barefoot, 6'6.5" in shoes and 211 at the NBA combine. About the same size at Andre Iguodala with 2" less wingspan. He's tall enough and long enough to be an average SF in the NBA, but he's too thin to play the position. If he had another 20 pounds I think he'd be ok there.

Please stop comparing with Iguodala. I don't know if he grown for an inch or not, but DeRozan wouldn't be an answer at SF. He can't guard Gay, Deng, let along Thaddeus Young, Paul George/Granger, furthermore, LeBron, Melo, and etc.

Iguodala is already the bottom line, and I don't think we should lower our standard, just because of our love on who we drafted.

I've stood next to Demar, am within a couple of inches and would confirm 6'5.5 is about right without considering shoes. He's not shorter than 6'5, at least (and he ain't pretty).

But he's not big or long enough to play SF on either end, his post game won't fly against 3 he can't shoot over and if he bulks up his first step will be zero.

I was reading espn board and got shocked when I saw this thread

NYC Radio reporting Howard has been traded
This has been verified by the same Puerto Rican newspaper that reported the JJ Barea deal.

Howard to Nets
Bynum, DeRozan, and Lopez to Magic
Calderon and Hedo to Lakers
Gasol to Raptors

its fake but how would you react if were real??

So keeping Calderon & making us 5th worst is a better option?

I just made a statement, where does it say I favour one over the other. If we are tanking we might as well go for gold.

Ya starting Anthony Carter or Bayless is a recipe for success. Why havent we tried this earlier?

The idea is not to try and improve our team as much as we can... it's to get the best players for the FUTURE (THE FUUUUUTTTTTUUUUUUURE) because the more we lose this season the better off we'll be. WE NEED PING PONG BALLS.

We don't need Calderon all he's friggin doing is taking away extra ping pong balls... do you really think Calderon will be a big part of our core? We seriously need to get rid of him in favour of prospects or draft picks. OR EXPIRINGS.

But no, that's not the Raptor way. We will have Calderon retiring as a Raptor so he can keep eating away at our shot clock and never passing the ball unless it's 100% safe to do so.

Damn it really annoys me when people go "we shouldn't do that, it'll make us worse!" in A REBUILDING SEASON. Who the **** cares what we do for the rest of this season?
