Funny

You can quote all the advanced stats you want, like posters have been posting for the past three years, calling this team elite and contenders. Doesn't change reality that this team and system is fundamentally flawed and we're going absolutely nowhere as constructed and ran.

I don't know how many years it's going to take for some of you to realize this, I thought 3 was enough, but apparently not.

In Lowry's case I think that while he's not hurting us in any overt way, we've built our offense in such a way that when he isn't playing well it's the difference between like 105OffRtg and 95OffRtg for the team. Like we fall off the map. A Lowry playing like we've seen during the regular season makes this game easy for us. Instead we find ourselves in more offensive slumps that ultimately lose us the game. It's nice that he's doing his job in other ways, but we're a 2 man offensive team and neither of those guys is really playing well. (No I don't consider 22 points on 22 shots for DD to be a good game... props for those And1 shots in the 4th though).

I agree. Lowry has not really been hurting us, it's just that we are so used to MVP Lowry that he seems like **** in comparison. If we had no expectations for Lowry we would all be in love with his defense and saying how he is so great for being able to be a positive player even through all of his deficiencies.

Is Kyle playing up to par? No. Do we have a better option? No. Is he still our best player? Most likely.

We need scoring from somewhere else. People said it was good not to do a trade, not to ruin our starting lineup and chemistry, well Scola hasn't played a single minute in the last 2-3 games.
I still believe the Raps can win this series. It's just I hate to see every playoff game as a struggle.

We saw moments in the 1st half of the team moving the ball and getting great looks. THAT'S what we need! All around scoring if Lowry and DD are going to have so much trouble.

I feel like the Monstars have stolen Lowry's powers. Where's some of MJ's Special Stuff when you need it?

This definitely was an emotional roller coaster of a game. But some of you need to remember this is a 7 game series.

If Lowry just hit 2 or 3 more shots - we would have won this game. We played with a lot of heart tonight and there are some positives to take away. After watching this game I'm not scared of Miami and I think we still have a good shot to win this series.

i feel like I'm in an abusive relationship, the raps continue to lead us on this emotional roller coaster.
I must've given up and then regained hope 5 times in the last quarter alone.
I'm not sure i can even call our game basketball, its like we're just patching 48 minutes of whatever happens to go in 1 minute at a time.
I'm done with this season for good. We should have lost to Indiana and started our nuke this week.
Either way, this team needs detonating.

Played like crap, almost won.

Miami can't lock down DD like Indiana did. Lowry's hot garbage, but who knows, he might pull his head out of his a$$.

Miami's okay but not that great. Cleveland will ruin us or them.

At least these series given Masai a good look at the team's shortcomings.

PrinceV wrote:I'm going to look at this game the glass half full. Miami needed Wade Dragic Johnson to play really well to beat us by 6 when DD and KL played like kaka.

Hmm.. hate to be a sourpuss but Johnson and Wade didn't really play well. They played like they have been playing since the deadline. They were pretty average. Actually, Johnson played below what he's been able to do as of late. Dragic played above normal but not by a ton. It wasn't like he dropped 50 and we barely lost. Dragic has been a 20ppg scorer in this league. I can see him easily averaging 16-20 points this series because of the way we play defense and the issues they have staying in front of guards.

We can definitely play better but we've been saying that since the Indiana series. It becomes a situation that we can't saying the same excuses. This might just be the reality of the way this team is going to play the rest of the series/playoffs.

Casey made a massive mistake not having Lowry/DD on the floor with the bench in the 2nd and 4th.

The guy's passing up wide open threes too. There is no way he isn't injured. It makes me shed a tear to see him pass up some shots that are so wide open. He got some amazing looks in the PnR at the top of the three point line and he just refuses to shoot. I mean he took 7 shots from three, but not all of them were good and he refused to shoot some of the good ones.

DD, KL and coach need to go

the further we get in the playoffs (even with DD/KL playing terribly), I think the more complicated it all gets for Masai to justify making big changes. A first round exit would have probably led to some major changes to our core. Now ... who knows.

At this point, the season as a whole will be considered a success even if we get swept since we made it out of the first round. Masai and Dwane can speak in glowing terms about heart, grit, players playing banged up and other non-quantifiable terms (completely glossing over the major issues we're seeing on offense) and still point to our record and post-season record as a positive thing no matter what happens (throw in some buzz about how Norman being a steal for us plus the incoming lotto pick for good measure).

Casey and DeMar get re-upped, we make our lotto selection, fire assistants/hire assistants, maybe make a deal or two to open up some cap flexibility (possibly in attempt to re-up Biz) and sign some value guys to cheap deals to round our bench.

Rinse, repeat.

im straight up dropping my seasons
