aside from the stats, what was concerning to me was cade's inability to get to the rim and finish. He kept picking up his dribble when a big man came up to challenge him in the paint, and he took some ugly floaters. He couldnt beat his man through his athleticism or craft and handles werent very tight. I do think his playmaking was very nice and he should have gotten more assists if he was playing with competent roll men.

how to calculate: +1 for every point, assist, rebound, block, steal;-1 for every FG missed, FT missed and turnover. Basically a way to aggregate who had the best overall box score. Obviously this stat doesn't take into account on-ball or team defense, screen setting etc but Barnes does well in all those areas that don't show up on the box score.

I wanna see suggs try to top this tomorrow

Don't you want to see how Fultz, Cole Anthony and Suggs will co-exist for the first half of the season?

Cade measured 6 foot 8 in shoes at Oklahoma State. 6 foot 6 in socks. Same way how Scottie Barnes is referred to as a "6 foot 9" inch point guard, when he measured 6 foot 7 in socks.

I agree with your sentiment and with Siakam not coming back until December it gives the team a perfect excuse to focus on development over winning. Then next offseason we draft that elite shot creator that this team sorely needs (Hardy/Banchero types).

My fear is our team is too good to tank. We'll probably be the best defensive team in the league and surrounding Barnes with shooters might lead to some wins.

We might be able to steal a few games, but we’ll lose plenty more without a 4th quarter closer like Lowry. Maybe just enough to sneak into the playoffs would be possible. Teams like the Knicks, Chicago and Indiana are a little more further along then us. Who knows though.

Imo if we’re in that no mans land area of 7 to 8 seed we’re gonna push to miss the playoffs.

Looks like a tank!

looks like PJ tucker

the 2 3 pointers is promising

So basically we will see Wainright in about 4 years once he is back from cutting his teeth in various leagues overseas.

Barnes really can do it all. That little floater while barely jumping was pretty crafty. We have to find a way to get this kid minutes. Thankfully, Nurse is going to love him and when he likes a player he really goes Thibodeau on their minutes.
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

plus cade is listed 6'6""

Really? I thought he showed some good things on defense and he seemed pretty crafty getting to the rim. He won't be in the rotation any time soon, but I think there's an NBA player in there.

I agree. He also seems to disappear in games. I noticed that in the NCAA and U19s so maybe he’s not that true Alpha type player. But he does have the skills, just not the presence.

This aspect of the Draymond Green comparisons are bang on, dude will be an elite passer. A lot of stuff to be excited about.

Luka is very savvy with his movements for a guy who really is not THAT athletic and frankly looks out of shape. Also helps he is tall. Very tall.

Plus, playing pro hoop in Europe since being barely in high school helps.

Real talk, all I see is Shaun Livington.

Banton is going to be a long term project. Like Norm was.
