Jonat Mogbo: 6'6.25 without shoes, 7'2.0 wingspan, 217 lbs

Draft Year:
J Grant: 31.4 MIN, 12.1 PPG, 6.8 REB, 1.4 AST, 0.8 STL, 0.6 BLK, .496 FG, 0.00 3PT%, .674 FT, .547 TS, 21.1 USG, 6.4 BPM
J Mogbo: 28.9 MIN, 14.2 PPG, 10.1 REB, 3.6 AST, 1.6 STL, 0.8 BLK, .636 FG, 0.00 3PT%, .692 FT, .648 TS, 22.7 USG, 11.1 BPM

Grant was also a 2nd round pick who was drafted based mostly off his size/motor/rebounding/defensive ability. While he was probably further along from a shooting standpoint than Mogbo (Grant also didn't hit any 3s in his draft year), he had to develop his shot at the NBA level and it took him years to get it at a somewhat consistent level.

If Mogbo can develop some kind of shot, his ideal position is as a jumbo wing. If the shot doesn't come, he's likely destined to become a smallball 5 or a guy who plays next to a 3+D C.

Oh wow, I would have sworn Grant was 6-8 or 6-9

In shoes, in games, they will be around 6'8.

Honestly I think Mogbo will be a pleasant surprise. Lots of hustle, lots of defense and a good passer - seems like a smart player. If he can develop a shot, he has the potential to be a great value add at that spot.

Have someone relentlessly crash the offensive glass will be a breath of fresh air. Who was the last person our team to do that?

Probably Amir was the last guy who did a lot of that dirty work stuff or JYD even further back.

Very similar physical profile to Draymond.

Biggest difference is Green actually was a decent shooter and had pretty good form in college. That’s the part of Mogbo’s game that is completely missing at the moment

Surprised the weight is the same. Grant looks pretty skinny compared to Mogbo.

Mogbo will be a 3/4. I'm confident he will develop some form of a 3 point shot.

What were Reggie Evan’s measurements? They’re nothing a like but if mogbo could develop into 80% of a rebounding machine like him I’d be happy. Mogbo reminds me of a Montrez Harrel with more passing and ball handling skills

Quincy Acy, maybe.

Reggie “0 points 20 rebounds” Evans was the best I can remember for us.

I am desperately hoping or just wishful thinking, Mogbo can be a POA defender and consistently draining the open 3.

Indeed.

SB-OG-RJB/Dick-IQ

This looks great, we traded away OG and need a replacement. Bobby called Mogbo a wing so…

impressed with his handles. he's not limited to post duty like I thought. Hopefully he learns how to shoot.
