People are stressing out over a Peyton Pritchard pick. I can't imagine what this board would be like if they selected Nico Mannion at 29. I mean they worked him out, too!

Mannion has some skills, but he had such a bad shooting season it might scare normal teams off of him. HIs best game funnily enough came against Peyton Pritchard:

Manion is a lot younger + a lottery/top 10 mocked pick at the beginning of the year....

but ya....i would be kind of disappointed if we drafted him with the 29

but then again, if Masai sees something in him than im sold

they didn't draft Fred either lol

No, but the point was that he's a "very non Raptors prospect", which if you see the FVV comparisons is untrue.

I mean that’s assuming the FVV comp is true which it isn’t, Pritchard lacks the strength and defensive ability that’s integral to what Fred is.

Manion is like internet hype McClung. I guess he could be Brandon Knight 2.0. Don't want that even if he does pan out.

how many times has Masai ever picked a guy that was 'slotted' to us in nba draft mocks ? lol 0

Masai has made 5 first round selections for the Raptors which includes Bruno, Wright, Poeltl, Siakam, OG.

Wright, Poeltl, OG were all popular picks for us.

Actually they are very similar. Even their mentality is similar. Below are three videos - 1 is FVV's play / scouting report. 2 is Payton's scouting report and 3 is his mentality. Pritchard is not a bad defender also and his wingspan is fine. I don't think we'll draft him but the similarities are there.

That's 6 out of 10 workouts and they could still do the rest today and tomorrow.

Just by looking at the list shot creation, defensive skill and compete level are the main factors in the players that have either worked out or interviewed.

I'm surprised they worked out Mannion. He doesn't seem like a Raptors type of prospect.

The other 5 guys makes perfect sense.

OG was the surprise one though. Wright and Poeltl maybe. but nonetheless this is why I trust Masai if the Raptors tanked lol if the Raptors stock farmed picks in the right draft, (2021?) Raptors could easily rebuild literally 1 year with high ceiling, superstar level talent again.

Dotson, Maledon, Mannion and Flynn are all PGs which they may be comparing against a known player like Pritchard or even Tre Jones or Cassius Winston. They don't have the ability to conduct group workouts so maybe they are trying to learn more about the lessor known guys. With the four year or multi-year college there is a lot of tape to watch on how those guys perform. Not much will be gleaned from a workout.

I think it will be Bolmaro at 29. Yurtseven at 59. Double Euro stash.

There were pages about OG.

All of us thought OG would be gone before the Raptors pick though. It was a miracle he fell

He turned out to be around the 6th best player behind Tatum, Mitchell, Adebayo, Fox, Collins. Amazing value for us.

I did an analytical comparison of Jakob Poeltl and Vernon Carey Jr. (mind you this was Poeltl's 2nd year at Utah)
Higher PER: Vernon Carey Jr.
OWS/40: Vernon Carey Jr.
DWS/40: Vernon Carey Jr.
WS/40: Vernon Carey JR.
OBPM: Vernon Carey Jr.
DBPM: Jakob Poeltl
BPM: Vernon Carey Jr.

Poeltl is a few inches taller and has a slightly longer wingspan, but Carey at least will show the ability to shoot outside the key, and will post guys up.

Another guy we should be watching as well is Isiah Stewart. He's shorter than Zeke Nnaji and Vernon Carey, but he has a bigger wingspan than both of them. To me he looks like a mini Demarcus Cousins.

I don't think he is awkward because he answered the questions with little hesitation. Not like OG, who is obviously not engaging to provide comedic effect. Theo's like: "Hi, I am Theo Maledon and I am here to competently complete this interview." The poor interviewer felt the struggle.

Sure, it was a fluff interview but this guy seems to lack personality. It is like his personality matches watching him play. He doesn't make any outrageous passes or try any wild fadeways, or crossovers on guys.

Even Xavier Tillman who gives me serious dad vibes is really engaging in conversation and his game is funky enough to not be too dull.

I feel Wright and Poeltl are Casey's picks.

Meanwhile, we high high ceiling players in Siakam, OG and Davis, and at #29, there are high ceiling (raw) players available down to 2nd round, so I am unsure why we need to tank? I think we have a great development system, and the stacked 2021 and 2022 draft would allow us to pick a high potential ones to develop them further.
