Looks like no buyouts are happening. We may bring back someone like eric moreland to fill out the roster

It makes me wonder why some of these guys couldn’t even get a minimum to sit on the end of the bench this year. And now we want one for the playoff run? Not to say they would be getting much time as they would be emergency options but it seems like a strange thing to do. I think we end up rolling with who we have.

The deadline is midnight on March 1. That is of course ambiguous because it could mean 00:00 or 24:00 on March 1. I don’t know what the NBA convention is.

From the NBA constitution and bylaws:

6.04. Playoff Eligibility.
(a) Each Member must submit a Playoff Roster consisting of Players from its Active, Inactive, and Suspended Lists by 3 p.m. (eastern time) on the day following the last day of the Regular Season. Any Player signed by a Member to a Player Contract prior to the start of the Member’s last Regular Season Game is eligible to participate in Playoff Games, except that a Player with respect to whom a request for waiver has been made after midnight on March 1 is not eligible to participate in Playoff Games during the then-current Season unless the Player has been acquired by a Member whose Active List is reduced to eight (8) Players due to injury or illness.

well i think its too late right. they would have had to be waived yesterday because they have to clear waivers right?

I wonder if they might bring in someone from a team eliminated from the Euroleague playoffs. There is no deadline for guys who are not on NBA rosters currently. Derrick Williams for example could be brought in to be a 15th man around the final day of the regular season at a minimal cost as far as salary and the luxury tax are concerned.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Not too late. Check my earlier post. Or here is the relevant part:

“except that a Player with respect to whom a request for waiver has been made after midnight on March 1 is not eligible to participate in Playoff Games during the then-current Season unless the Player has been acquired by a Member”

The player doesn’t need to clear waivers. They just need to be waived.

Yeah doesn't seem like it.

To be honest, after Lin and Gasol, we're pretty solid.

Yes we're thin for the backup powerforward spot, as we do have one power forward in Siakim on the roster though, so it's a little hairy.

But Ibaka is capable of being a 4, as well as Leonard with spot minutes. OG too, and I think that should be enough I guess. Morris would've looked great but oh well.

Got a feeling if no one else gets bought out. Masai is gonna just grab Pau. Doesn't hurt. Pau = Monroe

I would be interested in him mainly for his vet and locker-room presence...and it would make Marc happy as well (I think).
