What’s the point in getting a guy like RoLo if we’re likely to tank this year? Like does he move the needle for contention for us? It’s a waste. I’d rather develop young guys

Ok so just suck lol. I agree that seems like our only choice given our current position.

I was just hoping to be better positioned to solve our biggest weakness by far from last year. Instead, it's going to be another year of the same issues.

Yeah well id rather suck and get another top pick than fight for a spot in the play in to just get swept by the Nets

There's always going to be a team like the Nets. Before them, it was the Gstate Warriors. Before them, it was the Miami Heat.

Also, we won't be bad enough to get a high pick. We will be a borderline playoff team and get killed in the first round. Not a good position to be in, which was why I created the Siakam to Gstate trade thread yesterday. We need that to happen so we pick a direction.

Why would we not be bad enough to get a high pick? We got a top pick this year and that was with Lowry

We didn’t really improve the roster from last year. Sure we got Barnes but his impact won’t show in the win column much as a rookie

I would trade Siakam for that package too but idk if it’s even on the table

Keep it all in perspective, the biggest names are still on the table.

DeMar should sign a 1+1 with the Clips for like 23 mil./yr., Ibaka and Kennard S&T'd to the Spurs

Powell

You Rang
Moses
Porzingis

They need a scoring guard.

I agree with the premise but the only problem is that from Dallas’ perspective only Dwight Powell makes sense. And from the Raptors perspective do they want to take on an additional year of Dwight Powell without an incentive? It’s complicated mess because Dallas has options for a back up ball handler, Reggie Jackson, Schroeder are still available. Hell Malik Monk is unrestricted and available.

mavs dont have cap space or MLE left any more, how do they sign another free agent.

They still have the room exemption and can do a sign and trade

very very quick. I rather give those minutes to a young prospect than a stop gap player

You’re probably right but just let me complain about this for a little bit okay? :banghead:

We had to sit out our key players for almost all of the 2nd half and we also dealt with the covid thing. Even then, we only finished 7th worse.

Fred/Siakam/OG/Trent are too good to be a bad team and I'm sure we don't want to create the OKC atmosphere of losing with another one of those "blatant tanking" seasons.

Is Freddie Gillespie officially the only Center on our roster right now?

Just realized he's also 6'9.. but has crazy wingspan at 7'5 / 7'6 depending where you look.

Kawhi, Dame, the Beal situation still isn't 100...then you get down to the Simmons/Kuzma group.
