Raps prepared for this situation. Good on them

You can be upset about others not dropping but not sure how you can be upset about Ja'Kobe based on who was left on the board.
He checks a lot of boxes for the 19th overall pick in a weak draft imo.

What's the best hope at a proper wing? dick growing a few inches(haha) ?

RB/GT/Dick/Walter/OA.. all 2 guards

I like what Bobby said in his presser when asked about the glut of guards: we don't have enough talent to be worrying about filling out the roster and need to take the best talent we can get and let them fight for it and prove themselves. I would think those that were afraid the FO is going to rush a rebuild were very happy to hear him say that.

There is a lot of forwards and wings in next year's draft. We'll get one on the roster eventually.

The only reason the Raps have a glut of guards is nothing has been announced about GTJ or BB. They could potentially have a lack of guards, if both of those guys aren't retained. I think the question was asked because the media were trying to get a hint of what the Raps are planning to do with both of those guys.

Bobby did say they were thinking of using him in the 1-2 position, so clearly not in the wing role.

I love how the media is declaring the Lakers the biggest winners of the draft. It's going to be hilarious when they realize Knecht is a bust. When Pelinka is the only GM to have the guy in his top-10, that's a pretty big red flag.

Knecht has a chance at being a decent 6th man. If you start him alongside high volume scorers he loses any little value he has, it's one of the most obvious things of the draft.

If only Masai had the courage to trade with SA to take Edey

Memphis almost shut down his workout halfway through because he was too physically dominant against the guys they put him up against.

A Utah Jazz insider two weeks ago leaked and deleted a comment how the Jazz brass were saying his workout was "child abuse".

Masai's new "vision" better work because there was no excuse to not take Edey and build around him.

I mean, there was the excuse that they didn't have the pick to take him.

The only guys I’m really wondering about over Walter is Holmes and Dadiet.

Also building around a player like Edey is a ridiculous take. Who would even say that with a straight face?

Additionally, there should be a moratorium on trading with SA for at least 10 years. Last thing in the world we should want is Bobby on the phone with them.

Edey unless he really can dominate like Embiid isn't someone you can build around and I don't like the idea of owing San Antonio another pick or 4 after a deal gers done.

Warming up to Walter. Didnt focus too much didnt think he would alide this far. Just like gradey. Walter can be a premium role player for us if things check out. Anything better than that at 19 would be a home run. Still lots of upside at just 19. Efficiency is always a question but we’ve seen a lot of guys taken with poor FG%. Raps banking on darko system to clean that up which it will. Solid pick at 19 and i like bpa approach

I definitely see the powell comparisons.

Walter measured an inch bigger, and powell jumps an inch higher. Both players measured near the top of their draft athletically.

Man the Raptors drafting from 2015-2017 was so elite.
2015: Delon Wright, Norman Powell
2016: Siakam, Poeltl, FVV
2017: OG

It's no wonder we won the 2019 championship.

I mean, we might be saying the same thing about Barnes, Dick, Walters in a few years.

He is who I wanted the Raptors to pick at that point in the draft. I like that he has a 6 foot 10 wingspan. GTJ replacement and cheap.

We need bench depth in any shape or form at this point. Just like you I didn't look into Walter because I felt our pick would probably convey, which it ultimately did. Still he was considered a top 10 talent in this draft. Getting him at 19 is a value pick and gives Scottie another weapon to pass to if he's being made as a hub on offense. Lastly, I felt he'd be the pick because of the purple suit. All the indications from Raptors socials is purple is making it's way back for the 30 year anniversary.
