Masai replacing him with Ingram was when I knew our goat was a washed GM sadly

I was against the trade, but we can all agree BI delivers on what we wanted from him. Everybody else is the problem.

BI thus far is a horrible defender who doesn’t make teammates better. Man can score though.

At least we're not the Magic - who have the same record as us but traded all their draft capital on a non-All-Star player.

lol been whining for years to get someone with shot creation in the half court, now we have that but everything else falls apart. Such a Raptors thing to happen.

He's been a good passer the last 5 years, but right now he looks like a black hole on this team lol. I would expect it to get better with more reps.

I know, but thats exactly what we brought him for - to score. And he is reliable on that front. Barnes + Poeltl were supposed to be the defensive anchors, but both dont deliver.

You don’t seem to understand that a player making nearly $30M/year isn’t going to be used as a bench player. The NBA doesn’t work that way. The point is that all this money to underperforming players costs us the ability to keep other talent. It’s not difficult to understand.

No, I think a player that is actually "good" is going to play in front of someone that is supposedly untradeable.

You see guys like Bradley Beal making 50m and getting benched, so it's nonsense to suggest RJ couldn't be benched if Ochai was actually good enough to replace him.

We aren’t the Clippers, a team owned by a guy worth $150B. We are never going to be a tax team and we can’t piss away $30M on a bench player without it costing us someone else. That’s the cold, hard reality of this team.

Can't really call it tanking right when they never really did it to begin with.

Frankly all this highlights to me is how bad the trades made at the 2022 and 2023 deadline set this franchise back -beyond the lack of young talent due to not owning their 22/24 picks they also diluted their odds in 2023 - even if I think a first and some seconds is fair value for a capable starting center (Even if Poeltl hasn't been playing well to start this year).

To think I thought it was insulting when people said we'll be a PlayIn team lol....

It's early but there are some very obvious flaws (ie/ lack of size in general at PG and backup C). Can't be this aggressive at attacking the ball with no back line of defence (ie/ backup C) or when teams just need to swing it to where tiny IQ is then it's a fairly uncontested shot with his lack of length or they just take him into the paint and he's too small to do anything. Shead mitigates it to some extent because he's stronger and faster but that still a "good look" for anyone to shoot over either of IQ or Shead especially if they're scrambling to contest.

Small guards and a single LEGIT "big" is just not the recipe for a top defence.

Well, even though it looks like that, i rather think he simply takes a step back today and lets his teammates cook. Believe me, if a miracle happens and we come close in this game, Wemby will step up.

The goal was always to sell seats. It still is, winning is optional.

Gotta give another coach a chance with this roster before you can accurately assess what you are working with, like did Darko not get the memo we are not doing the tank thing this year

Yeah I know he can pass. I think we are just feeding him the ball and watching. This is just “pass to Will” type offence whenever he’s on the court.

I think it’s been a bad idea to take the initiating away from Barnes. I’m still on the fence about that take but…

Beal was coming off the bench for the Suns.

You're suggesting we would rather lose a "good" player than just bench RJ and his 30m "untradeable" contract?

IQ takes way too long to give that ball up. Give it up and run the give and go. Damn.
