If you didn't catch the game here it is
http://www.ihigh.com/peachjam/broadcast ... verlight=1

They started slow just like they started most of their games lately seems fatigue set in but shouldn't be an excuse. Oakland ran them to the ground in the first half. Second half things started to equal out, but a couple of misses here and there mixed in with a couple of questionable calls by the refs and they ended up losing by 1.

He's 6'4 and has a pretty wide/chubby frame there shouldn't be a problem with him playing SG especially in College, he has shown he has a pretty advanced post game and footwork. What I question from him is his IQ and he seems to be a streaky shooter (chucker at times).

Yeah, X does have a tendency to chuck shots. But he's a good shooter so it's okay lol. I remember him lighting up NLP that had Naz Long on. The only thing I want to see him improve is add more of a drive game because he rarely ever puts the ball on the floor and what kind of a SG doesn't drive? It's going to open his shooting a lot more.

That said, anyone seen Rae Jackson of the Oakland Soldiers before? I was really impressed by his game when I first saw him last year.

my bad just assumed he was talking about the 15 year old. kindve hypocritical though for a draft guy to be mocking ppl for following ppl too young. also he might want to get clarification on what a hipster is. hipsterrecruiting would be a ranking of weezer and grizzly bear records, written on a typewriter in order to be 'ironic'. then a fun game of frisbee before cocktails.

He measured at 6'2.5" w/ a 5'5" wingspan recently at the LeBron James Skills Academy.

Wow that's disappointing, especially since those heights are with shoes. In that case he better learn how to be a point guard.

gotta love two w/t headlines about canadian high schoolers. the wiggins is just old news, but some nice stuff is the stauskas piece that give hope that he might be better than his previous ranking and hype let on.

Not sure if posted:

http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/blog/eye-on-college-basketball/19626636/wiggins-grabs-title-of-best-amateur-player-in-world-by-default

So instead of Parker, the 6-foot-7 1/2, 200-pound Wiggins was forced to settle for the No. 2 player in the senior class on Friday night: Julius Randle.

It was mass destruction.

Randle is a beast. He's about 6-foot-8 and likely checks in at around 235 pounds or so. He's big, strong, athletic and just flat-out dominates every forward he goes up against on the summer circuit.

But not Wiggins.

Wiggins made Randle look ordinary, as if he was just another Top 100 player. I will confess that I'm a huge Randle fan, but he was outclassed -- in every manner.

I felt bad for Randle on this one because he didn't have a chance. Wiggins started slow, but by the end of the game he had racked up 28 points, grabbed 13 boards and done a magnificent job turning Randle into a non-factor for most of the contest. Randle finished with 15 points and 13 rebounds, but the numbers were misleading. Wiggins wanted the defensive challenge against Randle and used his length, quickness and athleticism to continuously frustrate the big Texan.

With that performance, just about everyone present at the Riverview Park Activities Center walked away with the same thought: This kid has to be the best player in the country, regardless of class.

CROWN: U17 Intersquad game and Head Coach Chris Cheng

Post#450 » by HoopsGod » Tue Jul 24, 2012 3:49 pm

June 30th 2012 Humber College in Toronto, Canada was the site of the Ontario Basketball Association(OBA) Alumni game and Team Ontario U17 Inter-Squad game against College, University, pro players.

In the U17 Inter-Squad game, Team Ontario battled an older, stronger more experienced squad and barely lost in a nail-biting finish. But it wasn't about who won the game, it was about teamwork, executing and leaving it all out on the floor for Team Ontario. Great action and skills showcased by the U17 squad. Check out the future stars of Canadian basketball.

Enjoy!

Team Ontario U17 Head Coach Chris Cheng talks about the Inaugural OBA Alumni Game and U17 Intersquad game and the reasons behind it. Coach Cheng believes it's about giving back to the players, families and fans that have played for and supported Team Ontario over the years. Getting guys like Cory Joseph, Devoe Joseph and Anthony Bennett and the rest of the Alums including Papa Oppong, Tyler Murray, and the rest of the OBA ballers of the past is a testament to the respect these players have for Team Ontario and Coach Cheng.

Thanks for all the links Drew.

Andrew Wiggins is in town to rest and participate in something called the Caribana Classic. Apparently it is a pretty big deal and attracts a lot of NCAA coaches. Wiggins, Tanveer Bhullar and maybe some other team members will be in Brampton on Saturday. CIA Bounce are in Atlantic City but it may end in time for them to come back to Toronto.

Calipari was in town to see him while Florida State's coach was in Atlantic City with CIA Bounce. Looks like Wiggins will be going to Kentucky. That sucks.

Trey Lyle is no longer committed to Indiana.

Not surprised with Trey Lyles decommiting. He was committed last season, I don't know why schools look for early commitments these days, there is no team loyalty in highschool basketball.

Apparently he played for one of the US teams a week ago in the adidas nations. Should we be worried he is changing his mind? Did I miss a story of him changing back to the US?

I remember playing in a summer league with Tristan Thompson and Tyler would be at all of the games just shooting around on the side nets. Can't believe the NBA talent coming out of the peel region: Andrew Nicholson, Tristan Thompson, Tyler Ennis and a few other players. The future's definitely looking bright for Canada basketball. Great news indeed.

Yes

june 23rd he tweeted "Can't wait to represent Canada in the Nike global challenge", and when he decommitted to indy last week canada basketball tweeted the article, and just retweeted a tennis ennis tweet saying good luck with your decision to lyles. and in an interview posted august 14th, "On the difference between this summer and last summer:
Adidas Nations I definitely feel like I performed better this year than last year. Last year I was really young with the older guys. Spiece, I really didn’t get a lot of opportunity to play with the 17s. This year, I was one of the core guys on the team. If I didn’t play well, we might not win the game. So I really had to step up as a leader and as a player and just go out there and try to dominiate every game. On the Canadian team, being the new guy, they didn’t know what I was about. Really just going in there and showing that I’m a player just like they are and they really opened up to me."

could just be that there was no canadian option for adidas nations (they had 4 team USAs, team europe, team latin america, team asia, team australia and team africa)

xavier rathan mayes is down to illinois, uconn and florida state (one would assume mostly for wiggins). not a half bad list. shame that illinois and uconn both lost their highly respected coaches recently though

He dropped a visit to UCONN so will most likely choose between Illinois and Florida State. James Young is probably going to Kentucky so if Wiggins switches to 2013 then he will probably go to Florida State. Would be talking to Mayes about this so could impact his decision. Mayes is making his decision on Saturday.

Jamar Ergas made an unofficial visit to UNC.
