he will not go higher next year than he would have this year, theres no way

I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

This could be good for us. Safely assuming we suck again, we'll get to choose between the four to five SFs that are expected to enter the draft next year.

Well, unless he comes out balling next year.

I think he must want to win a national championship really badly to not enter the draft this year. It might be a goal of his, but who knows.

EDIT: I'm sure the lockout will figure into his decision in some way, and that goes for most underclassmen having to make the decision of whether to enter the draft or not.

With Barnes out if the picture this draft is getting weaker by the day. If Kyrie goes back to school trade the pick for a late first round pick in next years draft. That draft is going to be stacked even in the late first round.

I'm hopeful that Irving stays in this draft, and I'm guessing he will. Same thing goes for Derrick Williams.

That comment means absolutely nothing. Please wait until atleast May to determine if a player will actually enter the draft.

May's too far and waiting is boring.

Although it sucks that Barnes is returning, I think the calls for trading the pick are overreactions. Even if we slip to 5, two or more of Jonas/Kanter/Knight/Kemba will be left on the board and they are all very intriguing prospects. Add in the chance to jump up and grab Irving or Williams and I'm quite pleased about this draft to be honest. While Jonas / Kanter may not be the sexiest picks, they're both legit traditional C prospects and those are tough to come by. I'm really starting to come around on those two, and once Raps fans get over the tendency to think that any Euro big = Bargs we'll start to feel much better about this draft class.

I don't think Barnes ever established himself as a clear top 3 pick anyway.

My options have been

1) Draft or trade up for Irving
2) Draft Williams if he's available
3) Draft Perry Jones
4) Randomly select between Barnes, Valanciunas, Kanter, Knight and Walker, and pray it was the right pick.

It's getting to the point where the pick will have zero trade value whatsoever, like back in 2006. We might as well swing for the fences with the pick on PJ3 or one of the euros, unless Lamb declared and then I'd use a top 5 on him.

Its like 2006. No consensus number one yet. Weak draft. Guys like Harry Palmer suggesting that we go after the guy with the most upside....

Definitely a blow for the pick's trade value. Wasnt as high on Barnes as some others here, but this draft is looking worse all the time. Less talent available, the more luck required. Barnes would have been a decent selection at any rate. Im not real interested in anyone other than Irving or DWill.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

If two (or three) teams leapfrog us in the lottery, I'm kind of iffy about where we are... I really want us to land one of Kyrie/Perry/Kanter/Val/Williams... the only other prospects I have any remote interest in are Knight or Walker.

Pushing for that #3 spot could make a big difference in terms of securing the high-ceiling prospect we want.

Not sure if many people have seen this video on Kanter.

The way his teammates talk about him, they sound in awe of his skills (similar to the article on the KY website).

Couple of quotes:

"You can't guard him 1 on 1. He'll score on you, or you have to foul him."

"Nazi Mohammed came back & played (with the team in practice) & Enes just took it to him"

Also, Enes is standing beside Terrance Jones at the end of the video (who is supposed to be a legit 6'8"). Kanter is at least 2" taller than him. TJ is also a pretty thick/ strong looking guy & Kanter looks to be about the same build.

Don't get discouraged guys we'll still end up with Irving, Williams, Kanter, Perry Jones or Val. Guys like T-Jones, Kemba and Knight will enter the convo depending on where we draft. The lottery could be very good to us as well. If we do somehow win the lotto then I'll be very happy Barnes went back. It makes the 2012 draft even stronger and gives us another year to evaluate him. UNC will be fun to watch next season, especially during an NBA lockout. If the new CBA does increase the age limit so only college sophomores can declare then we'll need someone to pick next year. The perfect scenario would be drafting Irving this year and Barnes in 2012. If that happened I'd move back to Toronto and buy season tickets.

Out of sight, out of mind. Guys like Kanter and Jonas V to a certain extent will get a little more hype than they deserve simply because most fans haven't seen them play very much. Kemba Walker and Brandon Knight had more time to expose their weaknesses in this tournament, but that doesn't mean they should be considered more inferior than they were a few weeks ago.

Workouts like the proposed huge group one in Newark will go a long way to ranking these guys the way they should be.

Jonas V definitely has crazy long arms (as advertised). He barely has to jump to dunk & his feet are almost touching the ground when he hangs from the rim. I'm starting to believe his measurements (as per his statements). He should be about 7 feet in shoes with a crazy 7'6" wingspan. Those are essentially the exact same measurements as JaVale McGee.

Seems to have a great motor too (think Noah or Varejao with better shot blocking). He is soooo damn skinny though. Then again, I thought Noah was too skinny (in College) to ever be a useful big in the NBA.

Can someone remind me why Enes Kanter was banned from playing in the NCAA?
