If Tim Donaghy gambled on his own games, then bet your ass other refs do as well.

Donaghy was just stupid enough to get caught.

This game was devastating with all the bad calls. These refs are ruining my passion for the sport. Does anyone feel like this too?

People said the same things about Jose Canseco--who turned out to be right--and Floyd Landis--who turned out to be right.

You could see how the NBA system of rigging games works tonight. Besides getting JV in foul troble all night, there was a sequence near the end where the raps had got close, and the reg bailed out DWill twice in a row. Once he got awarded a shooting foul when replay clearly showed no contact, then the same ref banged Vazquez with a quick T for good measure. The next possession he again bails out DWill who was trapped in the backcourt on the sideline. No foul there but he called one. Again you can hear Jack pointing these things out, biting his tongue. Williams almost blew it by missing both the 2nd pair of fee throws, but that doesn't change what the refs, or maybe just the one guy, Mott is it(?), was doing.

It isn't scripted like WWE of course, it's still a sport. But the refs make a difference of what, 5 points? 10? A team that isn't the league's choice to win has to overcome that kind of deficit to still win. We came close tonight.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

Honestly I think this series has been officiated pretty fairly. There have been some questionable calls, but for both teams.

What can we do as a large and very vocal fan base to deal with this ever occurring problem? Do we Twitter bomb the NBA? Do we email them? Protest with signs at the games? Do a Princess Diane style execution of Violet Palmer just to make a point?

There were definitely some bad calls to go the Raptors way tonight and in the other games. Tonight, the late foul calls were heartbreaking. It was tough to watch. The JV foul and then the two on Deron. Just so, so bad.

I like that idea! I vote for this.

The NBA refs suck and everyone knows it! They cost us the game tonight, and the refs will end up costing us the series.

One thing I have to say is we need to be more hostile towards them next time we're at home. Something like chanting "Gam-blers, Gam-blers" or, "eat dirt" or something along those lines.

So you want the Raptors to go game 4 without a single free-throw?

Stop Blaming the Refs!

Post#456 » by neurotik » Sat Apr 26, 2014 2:34 am

People on this board need to stop blaming the refs every time the Raps lose a game. It's such a cop out. a weak excuse. Nothing else. Do people honestly think we're the only team that disagrees with calls made against us?

I admit there are the rare occasions that a call or two is important to the outcome of a game, but this board blames the refs after every frickin loss. It's pathetic.

By blaming the refs Raps fans are taking the blame off the people who really deserve it; the team and the coaching staff. The Raps played like crap in game 3 and they deserved to lose. They were down by 15 with 5 min to go and were lucky that Brooklyn shat the bed and gave us an opportunity to tie the game. If Brooklyn plays half decent to close the game this would be double digit loss.

We lost because we were the worse team tonight, not because of the refs.

It's embarrassing, especially when our team is playing this poorly and making terrible decisions.
