Bulls can and will get more than GTJ for LaVine. Zach is the better player look at the metrics, Zach also helps out with being a very good scoring option who can be a lead dog on nights when others are having off nights

How much can the Bulls realistically command if he is a FA and wants to leave?

re-sign Brooks, Boucher and Thad.

MLE/draft ball handing guard/3 and D wing/Center

Minor move:

Flip Birch and Flynn for a better Center

Major move:
Package Trent and OG for a star wing OR trade Trent Rudy Gay style for 3 really good bench players.

Keep all players discussed.
Goodbye Yuta and Bonga.
Sign Jalen Smith with the MLE.
Draft BPA

FVV (Flynn/Brooks)
GTJ (?)

OG/Scottie/Pascal (Thad/Boucher)

Precious (Smith/Birch)

Deep Bench/Developmental:
Champagnie/Banton/Svi/Johnson

I think we need another 2 guard, or combo guard with the draft pick. That or a more traditional center.

Keels and Koloko fit IMO.

People will pay for his name alone. I am pretty Golden State, Memphis and Utah could field attractive offers. Like Golden State could use Wiggins plus Wiseman or Moody or Kuminga plus which beats Trent Jr plus Flynn and whatever else we offer. Memphis could use Brooks plus extras. I am not saying Trent Jr is bad but he's been in a major funk after the ASG break. He's shot the ball really poor compared to previous months and looked unplayable at times, IMHO Chicago is playing like a team right now and DeMar DeRozan and Zach fit very well I think once Curso, Ball and Williams come back I don't think they break up the team. IMHO they are looking to add to it

I like the concept of getting SGA using Fred + Gary but I wonder how much value they have as expirings next year. Also, I think SGA would need to ask out of OKC for this to be considered.

The Blazers FRP is lottery protected. Chicago can't trade their 2022 pick but can technically trade the drafted player to OKC.

If the raps FRPs are at least loosely protected, I would certainly do this.

How much money will Jalen Smith command realistically and would he fit with our starting line-up? Does he move GTjr to the bench?

I'd like a starting line-up of VanVleet, Barnes, Anunoby, Siakam,Smith with Trent and Achiuwa off the bench. Just don't know if Smith is that good or can be that next good young piece.

FVV, Gary, Barnes, PS, OG
Flynn, Brooks, Ach, Banton, Birch, Champ
Re-signing possibly Boucher, Young
Svi, Bonga...no spot

Gotta think we consolidate a few guys for an upgrade. GTJ and his contract likely is the 1st domino to fall.

The Heat have several bench players we could use or sign. But Omer has a contract for next year as does Strus and Vincent so we'd have to trade for him. I like the idea signing Caleb Martin for our bench.

his asking price should be cheap, we can trade one of our reserve players or a second round pick for him.
Vincent is a pretty good player as well

I don't think Jalen Smith is in a position to command too much. We are one of 7 teams with cap space. We would still need to generate some space. Choosing a price for him is tough. He is still kind of a mystery box. Picked earlier than expected at 10, he was stuck behind Ayton, and has only really flourished in Indy. I like him though. I am hoping he could be had for around Khem Birch money.

As for fit, I think he looks pretty good. He is 6'10" and has a 7'2" wingspan, so that checks out. He showed last night he will take, and can make a 3. He was energetic and played well. Other than Oshae, he was one of the guys that really stood out last night. At a -10 he was the only Pacer with a +/- above -20. Pretty impressive to hold onto a -10 playing 30 minutes in a 40 point blow out. He shot .455/.500/.667 and went for 15/6 with 3 blocks.

I think he could push GTj to the bench when we see Embiid, Gobert, Jokic, but be part of the bench hustle when we face smaller teams.

Re-sign Boucher for around the same as this year. Re-sign Thaddeus for around what Boucher is getting but for at most 2 years.
Give Jalen Smith the same amount as they above 3 on a multi-year deal with a player option.

Draft Champagnie.

PG FVV - Brooks/Flynn - Banton
SG Trent - Banton - JulChamp
SF Barnes - Thadd - JusChamp
PF Siakam - Boucher - Yuta
C Precious - Smith - Birch

Can they trade Svi and Birch for a single player on an expiring contract, no matter their ability?

Jalen Smith should sign with like OKC. Knicks should let Mitchell Robinson walk as they have Noel; sign Jalen Smith as a player that can hit the 3. San Antonio could sign him as a PF and backup to Poeltl at C.

I like it. Only changes I make are to exercise Team Option and cut Flynn. Add OG back in as starting SG. Trent off the bench.

a few things:

1. we got back a super high 2nd rounder in the thad trade
2. boston's pick was outright traded with no picks coming back
3. boston also traded an additional 2028 draft pick swap

I look at Memphis right now and wonder how good this team would be with Bane instead of Flynn. Shooting, defense, and secondary playmaking. I say this as someone who had Flynn at the top of my board for our pick (I had Bane around 3rd/4th).

White would've kept us in the luxury tax more importantly. Yuck

Then this year with David Johnson over Brandon Boston

I believe it was FVV insurance. Plus Flynn apparently blew us away at his workout.

Not gonna hit on all of them. I think of Champagnie as a "third" 2nd rounder, so not too worried about David Johnson. Brooks is basically a rookie as well.
It seems there's a directive to find Fred's understudy sooner than later.

I'd hope it's not with the Detroit pick, but I'd love if Flynn or Johnson were swapped for Zach Edey's rights if he gets drafted late 2nd. Nurse praised his hands, kid is only 20 with a 7'7" wingspan. Could be a fun situational big to trot out and really mess with teams for short spurts. He's been pretty good for Purdue this year, and if anyone can figure out how to hide his weaknesses in limited minutes, it's Nurse.
