He looks like a solid 10 year vet like Mason Plumlee that might be able to shoot 3's (30-35%). Solid back-up that could start if needed.

Kalkbrenner is a fine pick (I have a few others ahead of him), but it seems very unlikely at this point that he makes it all the way to the Portland pick.

He plays both sides of the ball and if the 3pt shot hits he can be an all-star IMO. ill take that all day with the 4th pick

He looks like hot garbage as a scorer so far. D is nice, and he doesn't have sticky hands, seems to be a decent passer. We'll see what another year or two does for his scoring. The Spurs certainly aren't in a hurry. But yeah, nothing about his scoring game excites me at all. He sucked a lot of ass at 12 FGA/gm, which isn't encouraging.

With Fox also not a good 3pt shooter, they need to draft a shooter. I'm guessing Kon at SF.

That makes sense.

Dalek wrote:People are being way to harsh on Castle. He is not a focal point of any offense - that's Wemby's role.

That's almost worse.

Now, he tried a lot of unassisted stuff. He scored terribly in isolation and as the handler in the PnR, and of course he isn't a good shooter. So, stuff like C+S and off-screen sets and what have you didn't work out for him. He got fully a third of his FGM and FGA in transition, and was basically useless otherwise.

He did drive a lot. Didn't finish well, but he was able to put out something like 12.5 drives per 36, which isn't bad for a dude without overwhelming physical tools.

He's a rookie, and he's 20, so there's time, but when you start out that low, it sets a given tone. We'll see what next year brings, but that was not the foot forward you wanted from a guy whom you want to develop into a strong weapon.

and solid defender and is a strong kid who with reps should end up an adequate outside shooter. That's like Derrick White or Jrue Holiday. .

I'm not sure those are strong examples. Derrick White is a strong shooter and Jrue is a fairly high-end POA defender and playmaker who has lived on the All-D team for most of the past decade. Castle might get to that level of defense, but he's not even a good corner 3pt shooter or FT shooter, so he has a long way to go to match even Jrue's scoring, let alone his playmaking.

The guy we are targetting at 39 is Thierry Darlan. Hopefully other teams don't catch onto him before the draft.

Traore finishing out the season strong. Putting together a solid stretch of games.

Obvioisly gotta try and find a star with our pick, but if it appears to Mgt there isn't one there, Bryant makes sense.

The one thing with Bryant, is he is very likely cheap on his 2nd contract in comparison to others as his pt totals won't be as high.

And what have "most" people say would be an ideal fit to this group? OG type instead of RJ in the starting lineup. A 3+D. Hence why lots want Ochai there for better roster balance but a bigger version of him is for sure something you could see Masai wanting.

Would love Bryant if Maluach and Robinson are off the board.
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

Still a top 10 lock on my board.
Best passer/playmaker in the draft class.
His shot was a big concern, but his mechanics always seemed fine to me. His shot is improving and he's been putting up some really good & efficient numbers as of late.

Apparently 14 NBA teams were scouting Traore today.

Noah Penda is going to be a good player if he decides on the NBA. I am thinking he will be elite three and d and he is really not discussed enough.

I see him more like a Trae Young that can't shoot from 3 yet. He might be scoring but will probably demand a max contract but not be worth it.

I see Queen being the same way but as a big.

Agreed. I don't see this supposed "it-factor" with Fears. I'd rather draft Cedric Coward later in the draft.

I like him in the same way I liked Quentin Post last year. I think he's got a career as a solid bench body, 2nd/3rd string center for 5-8 years.

I have followed Kalk for years and he just has heavy feet that bug me. He looks good sitting in the paint but he is not good flipping his hips on drives so he is a drop big. I do believe in his shooting. Overall not on my list of favorites in this class.

My sleeper riser in this draft: Cedric Coward

Long wing who can dribble, pass, and shoot from distance. I could see him going in teens if he measures out as expected and shoots well in workouts.
