MAJOR BLOCKBUSTER DEAL!!!!!!!!!

Toronto Trades:
leandro barbosa
Jose Calderon
Julian Wright
Reggie Evans
Peja Stojacovic
Miami 2011 1st round pick
Toronto 2012 1st round pick
12 Million TPE

Atlanta Trades:
Josh Smith
Jamal Crawford
Mike Bibby

atlanta has a lot of money invested in 2 players and appear unable to resign josh smith because of the money hes gonna be demanding, mike bibby and jamal crawford are both free agents at the end of this year, bibby is in his decline so he shouldnt be demanding for too much, but JC definately will and we have enough money and assests to get all three of these guys, and that can put atlanta in the financial situation to land carmelo which ive been hearing lately they want to join the sweepstakes.

And....we still have this years 1st round pick so draft a point Guard!

RAPTORS LINEUP
Mike Bibby/Jerryd Bayless
Demar derozan/Jamal Crawford
Josh Smith/Linas Kleiza
Amir Jonson/ Ed Davis
Andrea Bargnani/Joey Dorsey

Leandro Barbosa and Reggie Evans
for

OJ Mayo, Hasheem Thabeet, and Tony Allen

Gives Memphis about $7.1M in cap space for 2011 free agency and another $3.3M the following year. Gives them some instant offence in Barbosa and one of the league's best rebounders (who's also expiring).

We spend our free agent money early ($7.1M worth) by committing to Thabeet and Allen in order to get Mayo.

Calderon/Bayless
DeRozan/Mayo/Allen
Kleiza/Weems/Wright
Johnson/Davis
Bargnani/Dorsey/Thabeet/Alabi

^^ I like the premise of the trade, but realistically I don't see us landing Mayo without either giving up our pick (with some protection) or one of our young lotto prospects. By the way, if that did go down I don't see how Mayo wouldn't be starting (I'd want to try starting Mayo and DeMar on the wings, I think the two complement each other well).

Ideally I would try to keep Allen out of it, and see if maybe Memphis would go for Barbosa+Alabi+Weems+Miami 1st for Mayo+Thabeet, although I'm doubtful they would. We would have some solid prospects at just about every position if this went through though.

Bayless
Mayo
DeMar
Ed/Amir
Bargs/Thabeet

what about this as another step in rebuilding the raptors:

Toronto trades:
12.5 million TPE
Miami 1st round pick
Sonny Weems

Sacramento trades:
1st round pick
Jason Thompson

We could maybe get Thompson for that, but certainly not Sacramento's 1st rounder. Also, how are we giving them a 12.5 million TPE when Thompson's 2.2 million is the only salary coming back?

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=277ccxf

Basically

Barbosa
Evans
Wright
* Torontos 2011 1st Round Pick (top 10 protected?)
* Miamis 2011 1st Round Pick

for

Mayo
Thabeet
Allen

* the way i figure it is if we make the playoffs which i feel we would with Mayo + Thabeet on our team then its a good deal for us. If we miss the playoffs and get a top 10 pick then it isnt a good deal. I do like this deal though because i feel if we can get Mayo for a pick outside of the top 10 it works for us.

Hes a good shooter, can create his own shot and would fit nicely here. Same with Thabeet, his shotblocking would be a welcomed addition.

Calderon / Bayless
Mayo / Weems / Allen
Derozan / Klezia / Peja
Johnson / Davis / Dorsey
Bargnani / Thabeet / Alabi

* i could also after this see a follow up deal where we get a center for Peja. The center could be anyone but someone who could play some minutes just incase of foul trouble because i dont trust Alabi.

I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

For us to do this; we would be heavily overpaying Gasol.

Wow, Mayo to Raps has been discussed so long, lets just make the damn deal happen. Otherwise we will have to wait for the NBA to contract out Memphis before we can get our hands on Mayo...

I really don't understand why everyone wants mayo. He's a decent offensive option on a bad team, looks to have regressed, doesn't play d, and is undersized.

And while we're at it, why do we want Thabeet? If this guy had been picked 55th instead of second, no one would want him. But he's just not that good, and has so far shown only that he can't keep up with the game at the NBA level. He will be out of the league as soon as his contract is up, so why would we want the honour of paying him 5+ M per year to be useless?

If we want a young player from Memphis, we'd want Henry. He can shoot, which is a skill that neither DD or weems have, and he's big and strong enough to defend. Plus the Griz spent two months trying to short-change him by a measly few hundred thousand.

I really want Turiaf. He seems like the perfect teammate, and I feel like he would gel extremely well with the Young Onez. Building a fun culture with hard working players like him could help attract free agents too.

Doubt NY would take our scraps, but I would offer

-trade exception for Turiaf ($4 mill)
-Reggie, Dorsey, Wright, and Alabi for Curry

Bargnani, Turiaf
Amir, Ed Davis

That's a strong enough 4 man rotation for now while hopefully Bargs, Amir, and Davis continue to improve. Ideally we would luck into Kyle Irving and sign Jeff Green this summer.

Ed Davis, Barbosa and our pick (lottery protected)

for

JaVale McGee, Al Thornton and Yi Jianlian

We dump the contract of Barbosa for expirings after this season and have a chance to make a serious run at Jeff Green by offering a contract OKC wouldn't match. We get our C of the future in McGee, who's only 23 y/o filled with athleticism and defensive potential. We won't make the playoffs this year so we'd still keep our pick.. we can try to have more protection on it for the following years as well. This is based on a trade proposed on the trade board, where a Wizards fan thought of a Barbosa for Yi/Thornton deal and many people agreed that it could work. Thoughts?

A potential future line-up of:

PG Bayless / Calderon
SG DeRozan / Weems
SF Green* / Kleiza
PF Bargnani / Johnson
C McGee / Dorsey / Alabi

Plus our lottery pick this year - we'd look really good going into the future, just need more shooters on this team - the team could grow well together.

I dunno about McGee as our center of the future. Hes been known for a bad attitude and doesn't seem like he has the highest basketball IQ.....DAMN I WISH WE GOT TYSON CHANDLER:(

I think that you would have to sweeten the pot on a McGee trade - Although the trade works salary wise, both Yi and Thorton are expiring and the wizards already have Barbosa in Hinrich and the trade for Rashard Lewis makes both Yi and Thorton redundant.

I do like the idea of trying to get McGee - the incident with Blatche may make him easier to get but I think it would have to be:

Derozan - Davis - Barbosa

for

McGee - Hinrich - Seraphin or Booker

We keep our pick -
swap Barbosa and Hinrich - Washington gets speed Toronto gets shooting
Toronto gets the mobile big man (year older than Demar and Davis)- Averaging almost a double double in reduced minutes - He is now the player that people hope Davis grows into.
Washington gets two young players with potential.

Afflalo wouldn't be a bad pick up.
Of course, his value will rise with Carmelo heading out of Denver.

How about this idea based on the rumour with Jose/Bibby?

Jose+Barbosa+Kleiza (+Miami pick?) for Marvin+Crawford+Bibby.

We move Kleiza for Marvin, who is a defensive upgrade, and is putting up similar numbers as Kleiza on slightly better percentages, and is two years younger--he is being paid more money though.

We move Barbosa for Crawford... Hawks get a guard who is producing very similarly to Crawford (and is 3 years younger), and costs less (makes sense if Crawford is looking for more money)...we get an expiring for Barbosa, who we could also try to trade later on. At 6-6, he can be a legit backup SG for us for now.

Lastly, we move Jose for Bibby... a downgrade for us talentwise, but opens up minutes for Bayless, and we reduce the salary commitment to Jose. Meanwhile the Hawks take on more salary for Jose but get the younger and better PG.

Hawks save about 1.7 million instantly (after Jose's trade kicker is figured in), moving them further away from the tax line. Assuming we aren't keeping Crawford, we completely remove Barbosa's salary from our books this summer, opening up some more capspace.

Its a good trade for the Raptors not sure if Atlanta does it.
Crawford doesn't have a future in Toronto would either be re-traded or allowed to expire.
Jose is a definite upgrade on Bibby.
