Meh. To be honest I found nothing wrong with just the claw print we'd been using the past few years. It was edgy enough and simple enough.

And at least the old cartoon dino dribbling a ball was amusing to look at.

They are trying to create a brand signature more than a sports logo, so from a business sense I understand it.

The Nets don't own the patent on simplicity, circles, basketballs and wordmarks the last time I checked. If you look at all NBA logos they generally either feature a basketball somewhere or they have an animal. They're completley monochrome. We have a splash of red and the presence of silver. The Pistons, 76ers, Lakers, Clippers and Knicks all have a basketball as the primary visual element of their logo.

In 10 years time this is going to be like those who thought the Clippers and Lakers looked too similar beyond color. Does anybody really care about that any longer?

They should of let the fans vote for the logo....give us like 5 logos to choose from and the one with the most votes wins. Didn't the Raptors get their name from a vote?
