Have you been watching any non-Raptors games? This is what the Nuggets and the Wolves look like right now. They weren't playing down to competition, it's how they've been playing, especially the Nuggets.

Denver is sadly falling apart but they still have the ability to turn it on at the end of the game. And the wolves have been losing by 6 and 7 points to much better teams than us. It's the first few games of the season and they just had a major roster change, spoiler alert, they wont be a .500 team, and they will be a significantly better team than us. Denver is a bit more of a **** show.

I don’t disagree. I was talking about your comment that the Nuggets and the Wolves were toying with us. They weren’t “taking it easy” if that’s what you meant by that. They just look bad right now; Nuggets have no bench and the Wolves struggle to play 4 quarters/close out games.

Yeah I wouldn't go so far as saying they were taking it easy, but I dont think they were taking it all too seriously either.

Eh I'm not too concerned, the Nuggets were toying with us yesterday, just look how much they turned up the defensive pressure at the end of the game, same thing with the Wolves. Teams aren't really trying their hardest and you can tell, plus with all these injuries I don't think it matters too much. By early December we are probably lucky if we have 8 wins, and if we are so massively below a .500 record by year end, even with a weaker back half of a schedule, I doubt we push too hard for wins. Maybe not bottom 5 bad, but still pretty bad.

On the one hand if Barnes stayed in, even though he wasn't scoring efficiently I think we win that game, on the other hand the injury list feels like a merry go round and i'm not exactly complaining as long as there's nothing long lasting.

Unlikely we win the game.
The game got tied when they were hecking Poeltl. Basically, our inbound only have 3 options, and they trap us in half court, because we only have 4 options.
So even in the over time, they use the same strategy, it is unlikely we can win the game.

They wouldn't throw me out if I wore this at the arena, would they?

Tank is officially on. If we were generally healthy maybe we could hold down the fort until he gets back. From a competitive standpoint this is as rough as it gets.

Thinking about this more, this is actually as scary as it gets.
We could be looking at a healthy team once the tough stretch is over and we are like the 3rd last in standing. then we'd hit some sort of kindergarten schedule and its prime time to make an epic Play-in run at the second half of the season.

I wonder if the Scottie injury accelerates the rebuild.

Wonder if we will see Poetl , BB, Boucher moved earlier than expected

Don't worry about that. Their record will be sufficiently horrible enough by the time Scottie gets back, the team will have more incentive to continue tanking than trying for the play-in.

They'll find a way to start sitting other key players.

Utah and Detroit out to the best start at 0-4 in the tankathon derby, followed by the Raps, Nets and Blazers at 1-3.

The race for the bottom could be as exciting as the race for the top between the Celtics and Thunder

Unless a Poeltl deal involved a young C coming back (say like Missi on the Pelicans), I don't think the Raps will move Yak for just picks.

Jokic had to go for 40 on 27 FGA in 44 minutes on the first night of a back to back. The premise that they weren't trying hard is absurd. Jokic scored 40+ only 3 times last year. He's already had to do it twice this year. I really don't think he had watched any of their games until that night.

I was thinking the same thing. It's not inconceivable that we start 5-20 over the first 25 games. At that point the direction is clear and they must move some guys. It would be incredible if we had a top 5 pick and then 2 more in the top 35 or so (POR pick and another late 1st picked up somehow).

Takes two (or three) to tango. Need to give time for teams to figure out what they need first, even if we are willing trade partners.

The easiest move for a Yak deal was probably the Pelicans, but then Murray and TM3 got hurt, so who knows where that team is at?

Also, what happens if the Pacers start shopping Turner, and then the Raps are competing with them for deals.

We're making the play-ins for sure next season if this is our team:

IQ/Shead
Barrett/Ochai
Cooper/Dick/Walter
Barnes/Battle
Poeltl/Mogbo
In Masai We Trust :meditate:
