I hope that any sign and trade is with a Western conf. team ... being in the East, I'd hate to help another Eastern conf. team build a contender for the next 5 years as well as facing him 4-5 times a year. Twice a year is enough for me.

to Spurs:
Chris Bosh
to Raps:
DeJuan Blair
Richard Jefferson (massive expiring)
Antonio McDyess (expiring)
1st round pick
Spurs get new young talent to take another run at it while Duncan still has 2-4 years left, and when Duncan does retire, they won't have to rebuild - Bosh and Parker will still be in place (re-sign parker in 2012).
Raptors get a young rebounding beast, a prospect, and $20 million in expiring deals to trade for young players/picks or use for free agency in 2011.

Re: Chris Bosh Sign and Trade Ideas
RAPS CHANGE IN TEAM OUTLOOK: -0.8 ppg, -6.9 rpg, and +0.1 apg.
Incoming Players
Chris Bosh (S&T)
6-10 PF from Georgia Tech
24.0 ppg, 10.8 rpg, 2.4 apg in 36.1 minutes
Hedo Turkoglu
0-0 from
11.3 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 4.1 apg in 30.7 minutes
Jose Calderon
6-3 PG from Spain (Foreign)
10.3 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 5.9 apg in 26.7 minutes
SPURS Change in Team Outlook: +0.8 ppg, +6.9 rpg, and -0.1 apg.
Outgoing Players
Richard Jefferson
6-7 SF from Arizona
12.3 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 1.9 apg in 31.1 minutes
Tony Parker
6-2 PG from France (Foreign)
16.0 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 5.7 apg in 30.9 minutes
Manu Ginobili
6-6 SG from Argentina (Foreign)
16.5 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 4.9 apg in 28.7 minutes
Why for RAPS: An expiring in richard jefferson, and Parker; get rid of hedo and calderons contract; pick up a legit starting point gaurd and wing player
why for SPURS: pick up young superstar big in his prime; legit championship contenders for the next 5 years next to Tim Duncan.
The picks would be all future picks. Don't know who gets who's pick, but it wouldn't be a deal breaker anyways
The future looks bright. So what do you think.

now you're getting greedy. Ginobili just signed an extension and is not going anywhere. Parker is unlikely to be dealt (ever). And certainly not for two bad contracts.

I think its something to consider, the Spurs are thinking championship. Their not getting any younger. Chris Bosh will carry the Spurs when Duncan decides to retire. I can see Turk playing well in that system. Calderon will start, but will eventually lose his job to the young up and coming George Hill.

Correct. And you can change that to "The Bulls would never deal Noah in a S&T for Bosh". And also, "Bosh would not agree to a S&T if Noah was going back to the Raptors".

Re: Chris Bosh Sign and Trade Ideas
Too good a deal for the Raps - but you never know. One big reason for this and all the hedo+bosh deals not to work is apparently CB is not a big fan of Hedo and wants to be distanced from him.
Khan wrote:I would hope we can get something done like this...
Calderon/Hedo/Bosh
for
Collison/Okafor/Peja/Peterson
On paper, it doesn't seem like it's a great deal or anything, but seriously, can we honestly get much back from a S&T with Bosh? This is probably a realistic package I would think because Hornets need to keep Paul happy or there is no point of keeping him with Collison capable of running the team. Raptors get rid of Calderon/Hedo with Bosh is a huge plus to rebuild for future with the addition Collison. Okafor may have a huge contract, but seriously, Okafor or Hedo? It's an easy choice for any Raptors fans. Peja is an expiring in 2011 and Peterson as well (mainly he is a fan favourite and trading him keeps Hornets away from tax possibility at 68 million.)
It will transform Hornets back to a faster pacing team with Bosh and West.
Paul/Calderon
Thorton/Posey
Wright/Hedo
Bosh/Draft Monroe?
West/Draft Monroe?
and Raptors will look like this...
Collison/Jack
DeRozan/Belinelli/Peterson
Weems/Peja/Peterson
Bargnani/Amir/Evans
Okafor/Amir/draft?

Re: Chris Bosh Sign and Trade Ideas
A lot of these proposals involve us getting back a terrible contract (or 3). Spurs fans would be willing to do Blair, Jefferson's $15m expiring, George 'the Minuteman' Hill and a future 1st for Bosh.
Blair is one of the best value deals in the NBA - 3 more years at $1m. Hill is cheap for 2 more years. Both guys can play. Jefferson's contract gets moved on for a pick/prospect from a team looking for cap relief, or at the deadline to a team with deep pockets looking for short-term depth. Plus we get a pick. Unless Bosh goes to OKC, I don't see a better trade on the horizon.

Not a chance OKC goes for that. Westbrook is a HUGE part of that team

Re: Chris Bosh Sign and Trade Ideas
I'd be surprised we get another star or star-in-the-making back in a S&T.
The Spurs deal looks good because we get back several useful pieces. While it's good for the Spurs because they get a star + they can generally fill holes with quality veterans looking to tag along for a ring.
Another one I thought, what if the Hawks have playoff success and are able to retain Joe Johnson. Would they be able to add a 2nd all-star in CB4? That would be a championship calibre team.
I'm not good at Proposals and I'm not sure if they would be over the CAP because of re-signing JJ.
Let's say:
Marvin (locked up long term and is a quality defender with versatility)
Childress (re-signed)
Teague
Draft Pick
Reason's why. Understanding we're not getting a star back, Marvin and Childress give us two good defenders who are versatile and don't need a lot of shots. Teague showed flashes and would allow us to move one of our PG's. Draft pick could be packaged with our's to move up or we could use them to acquire a player.

I like this deal - it's the most realistic deal I've seen so far in a sign and trade for Bosh. San Antonio needs to do something to put itself back as a contender in the West, and they need a young cornerstone for the franchise. The fans would love Blair and he's the low maintenance rebounding guy the Raptors could use. Hill would be an ideal backup guard. Jefferson could start on this team, though it would be better if he could be moved for picks or more salary dumps.

Only one problem with this proposal. Why in the world would Bosh ever agree to this? So he can be in a worst situation in Detroit? People have to understand that we're limited to the teams that are in the position to win that we can deem as trading partners. Teams such as Portland, Houston, Chicago, and OKC are all teams that have assets and would be contenders if Bosh were added to their team. If you add Bosh to Detroit, they're worst than the 2009-2010 Raptors.

storied US market, plays with 20 ppg guard in Gordon and a strong PG in Stuckey, would be his team and still be the #1 option

Gordon has shown that since he got paid, he doesn't give a sh*t. Stuckey is horrible and overrated to the max. Friggin' Will Bynum starts over him. I don't even know how you can try to defend such a horrible proposal.
Well, if he wants to play for a storied franchise, with a 20ppg guard, and still be a #1 option, might as well go to Chicago where they could compete in the East instead of being a lottery team for the near future in Detroit.
