Re: General NBA Discussion Thread
I think Minny might surprise a few teams even this year. I wouldn't count them out. Their bench is solid and they have good vets. The young ones will make mistakes but i think the key will be Rubio. He is in his 5th year now and and being the PG leads the team. If he can stay healthy and shoot as well as he has this year then we might see them make the playoffs. This offseason they will have enough to sign some role players or maybe another stud to take them over the hump.
The vets are really old so maybe sign some solid vets to support them. If Lavine gets his defence/shooting in shape and his poise they might be a deadly team. Keep Kmart as their bench scoring vet and add some solid bigman and PG to make this a scary scary team.

Mostly seems like they each thought each others garbage smelled nicer? Chalmers is younger than Udrih.. so there's that. And Miami sheds some salary?

That Lebron drive.
"I definitely knew he traveled, but I didn't know they were going to call it. That was one of them situations in which a great player made a move...and they called the call. And I was like, 'Oh, man, there is a God.'

And the Bucks lost last night, couldn't score 90 points against the Celtics. Bucks have that superstar top 3 pick right?
It must be very boring to watch basketball for only one reason.

Re: General NBA Discussion Thread
Celtics are looking good for a Cousins trade imo. I don't think Celts even have to touch 2017 or 2018 Nets picks. Once you include this 2016 Nets pick you can probably sweeten it enough with other 16 1sts (currently have 11, 13 and 18 as well) or on the team assets like Smart
Nets pick would be crucial for the Kings cause Sixers pick swap is cockblocking their chance of getting a top 3 pick otherwise. 0% chance at no.1 pick and getting 2nd or 3rd would take both them and Sixers to win lotto, so would take a miracle. If they got Nets pick they could dream about picking 1st or 2nd. Then live with the Sixers pick being 4th-6th or whatever
Another option is going to the Lakers and maybe getting a package like D'Angelo and Randle. Vivek might feel like his team is closer to being ready then. Randle/WCS frontcourt could be productive soon.

If they trade with celtics it'll end in a complete rebuild, which will make their front office (particularly vlade) look dumb.
As opposed to trading with the raptors where they could retool around Valunciunas, which is easier to sell to your fans after vehemently denying that cousins was on the block. And you know what, the raptors will even toss in Ross to help with your 3pt issues, especially since mclmore hasn't panned out. Why settle for one mclmore when you can essentially have two!
And let's not stop there, If it's the future you want the raptors have you covered. They'll even throw in a lottery pick curtesy of either the knicks or nuggets. Restictions apply, the lesser pick of the two teams is passed on in trade. There's a chance the pick might not even be in the lottery.

Re: General NBA Discussion Thread
Vivek bringing in Drake to talk to the players is just adding to the volume of WTF moments. None of them are working. Well done completely derailing your new toy train. Feel for the Kings fans to have two horrid owners in a row, this just when they thought they were clear of the previous lot and on to more stability.

Re: General NBA Discussion Thread
Kings need to blow up the team, and trade Cousins. I'm not sure he is worth the trouble, and even if he is he is going to be bolting in 2years. This is the time to cash in, and they don't even have their picks for the next 2 years.
Sullinger/Lee/Olynyk/Nets 1st round pick (probably top 5) / Celtics 1st round pick / couple of 2nd round picks for Cousins.

Yeah, some team is going to reap the rewards with this one. DMC is a force that will change most teams outlook completely.

Re: General NBA Discussion Thread
I wish we could see a GSW vs SA/OKC/Cavs matchup soon.
GSW is rolling. Like seriously clicking. I would like to see them vs another juggernaut. That said, KD is now injured so OKC would get steamrolled. Cavs still don't have Kyrie back so that might not turn out well either..
I enjoy their style of basketball a lot but don't care for the showboating. Can't get too mad about since they are really good.

Re: General NBA Discussion Thread
I have been really impressed by Dwight Powell! his game is starting to translate very well in this league. In the first half against us he was really solid (almost a force) and then faded .
10.8PPG 7.5RPG in 21 minutes, That's damn impressive!
He didn't show much perimeter game against us but then I had to remind myself of some of the perimeter display he showed during the Summer League:

He might just blow up, at some point.
and I dont care that he is a Canadian
