I can't get over the fact that in his bio on Twitter he has actually updated it to say "Husband,Dad,Son,Proud American,(NOT DUAL)citizen for the last 30 years."

He really is - his Twitter background is a Hockey rink with the words "SORRY for being so awesome". That's the most Canadian background you can get.

At the end of the day, people will respect you more if you are true to where you came from, especially if you a rep a place that most people don't. Which is the whole point of the "We The North" re-brand and why it was so successful among both Canadians and Americans. Just look at Drake, he started doing a very un-hip hop thing and started repping Canada/Toronto hard, and I think people on both sides of the border respect him more for it.

Mark Jones just hella insecure for some reason, and his fakeness about being American is so cringy. It's like the kid in high school who tries so hard to emulate the cool kids and just gets clowned for it anyways.

I don't get it.

I'm a proud Canadian who was born and raised here, as were my parents and grandparents. My family moved to Canada 125 years ago, yet I still rep Ukraine and I am proud of my heritage.

Mark Jones was born, raised and educated in Canada and he's ashamed of it.

Being called a Canadian when you were born in Canada shouldn't be taken as an insult, unless you're insane.
