No, you're still wrong. If you trade away KL, you need to blow up this team completely. Anything you get back in return just makes you a worse treadmill team.

exactly, blow it up. We were a treadmill with lowry and an even worse treadmill without. Blow it up!

The GM that says "let's blow up this ECF team to tank" gets fired the next day. Masai had his hands tied twice - when this team made its run to the post-season that year against the Nets, and when he had the ECF run. Keeping Casey after Washington was insane though.

Nah, that would just show he's a good GM like me thinking ahead.

You know what at bad GM does? He sets up a team to be deep in the tax with a ceiling of 6th best in the East. That's a bad GM.

I'd rather suffer a first round exit than suffer an entire season

As a fan, I'd rather have experienced last years playoff run than betting on the unknowns that Lowry trade would have brought. I have no idea at this point what'll happen in this offseason, but I'm not convinced that trade would have gotten us a ticket to ECF.

I enjoyed the hell of 2014 and 2016. So I don't care about the trade at all

We could've had a proper rebuild right now with a different coach. But whatever, now all that starts this offseason after we get embarrassed by the bucks

Is it even possible to build around a PG? Lowry, IT, even Paul can't make WCF. Nash couldn't make NBA finals and was 2 time MVP.

All you have is Curry because he can shoot from half so he doesn't have to rely on scoring inside the line.

If I had to pick a franchise player, it's gotta be a big man or a wing. The playoffs is basically streetball for the last half of the game, you need the biggest, baddest dudes you can find.

Lmao wow

You say that like them winning a championship makes your own life better lmao wow . I'm a fan of the team, religiously watch games, and I want to see the franchise do well. However, I would rather see consistent winning throughout October-April and a possible first round exit than see Shumpert and Tim Hardaway Jr. stink it up for half a year and not make the playoffs at all. I watch games to unwind after long hours at school or work for the purpose of entertainment, and watching a perennial loser for the HOPES of winning the lottery for the HOPES of drafting a generational talent for the HOPES of winning a championship is not something I would trade for what this fan base has had for the past 4 seasons. It's a classic example of falling in love with potential and failing to appreciate what's in front of you. I know Lowry is a choke artist in the playoffs and DeRozan is too, but they're a big part of why I've enjoyed watching the Raptors the past 4 seasons and no longer had to dread Bargnani deliver disappointment every night until their season ended. So what's not gratifying about regular season success to someone who isn't a pessimistic douchebag who places too much emphasis on outcomes rather than enjoying the process? F**k the "Championship or Bust" attitude.
