That’s what being a professional is and taking the high road.

This is why fans look up to him.

I don't get how our fans can call DeMar's reaction unprofessional yet support the most unprofessional basketball player of the last 12 months coming to our team in return

I hope this chop on his shoulder motivates him to improve as a two way player. I accept fully that it was never going to happen while he was a Raptor. He is going to a pristine organization (notwithstanding recent events) and will be coached by an all-time great. If that doesn't motivate him, nothing will.

This is pathetic. Now it's turning into a soap opera. Media sucks. Demar complaining about taking most of t he blame is pathetic. This is p ro frssional sports. When you lose the s tta rs get **** on. It's been like this for ages. Why is this suddenly a new phenomenon. Also why are people ignoring that we got swept twice I b a row while other teams took the cavs to7 games... In all this discussion theyre making it seem like our situation wasn't any different. So disappointed in this turn of events.

While I understand what you’re saying, individuals who have the spotlight on them have a lot more added pressure than your average everyday citizen. And because they’re human just like everyone else that pressure can turn into anxiety and depression which results in making illogical responses and saying things they’ll eventually regret. Lots of people look up to Derozan and all eyes have been on him lately. That seems incredibly stressful.

Unprofessional?

You sure it wasn't the spurs medical staff being unprofessional misdiagnosing or clearing him when he wasn't ready?

If what KL was doing was outright terrible, why didn't the spurs start fining him? Why didn't the nba step in and fine him to make an example?

Did Leonard put out cryptic messages in the media, social media? No he kept his **** mouth shut and did what he needed to for his health and long term career.

Leonard didn't book an espn interview to tell the world he won't play in Toronto or was blindsided by not being traded to LA.

I really don't get his reaction. People get traded all the time, that's the reality of professional sports. Does he think he gets afforded anything extra because of who is he? Isn't that an entitled perspective?

Does he think he deserves to stay here regardless of his contributions and playoff failures? That he's somehow immune to criticism because he's somehow done US a favor because he's chosen to stay here?

Nevermind the fact that we elevated him his profile (while mostly hiding his deficiencies) more then if he had played almost anywhere else?

His reaction through all this doesn't sit right with me. He's proven why Masai was wise to trade him away.

And I think many of us are okay with DeMar leaving because we were fans of this team before he arrived and we'll stay fans now, after he left.

I think to many casual/bandwagon fans who didn't necessarily go through those rough days post-Grunwald days, DeMar is the team.

We all listen to podcasts, follow twitter, read interviews etc. People with access to more data and insider information than us have constantly said DeRozan is a good player but if he is your best player, he is too flawed of a basketball player to lead you to a championship. Evidence has proven this time and time again. Furthermore, he has been in trade rumors for the last two years. I sympathize with the guy and I will always cherish him as a decorated Raptors both on and off the floor but getting defensive over Masai's frankness in giving the team chances is kind of embarrassing. With respect to that statement, Masai said nothing wrong in my mind. It's just the reality of the situation

I have no problem with DeMar but It's obvious what Haynes is trying to do. How this thing goes this year is partially going to be a referendum on the state of ESPN's current level of influence. They have fallen off quite a bit since the days of Vince.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

I hope Drake invited Kawhi over after DD left.

Like the casuals who picked him 2nd team ALL NBA?

Ahh yes, such esteemed evaluators of talent and performance like Doug Smith, and his colleague beat reporters in other cities. I'm sure they spent countless hours pouring over the advanced stats before voting.

DD's ability to fill out a stat sheet in the regular season is a function of his very high usage. In crunch time and during the playoffs - when it really mattered - he would invariably disappear. There's a reason pretty much this entire board hated to see DD get the ball late in game.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

the spurs get tons of flack for babying players when it comes to their health, now all of a sudden they're rushing people back, ok then. Kawhi's uncle is like VC's mom x 1000, if someone pulled what Kawhi did on the Raptors they'd be crucified by our fans (cough, VC, cough). What DeMar is doing pales in comparison.

Talent. Also, you can still think Kawhi is a head case and malcontent and want him on the team.

Also, I think in Toronto, Lowry has undeservedly taken most of the blame.

I’m not disagreeing. I’m talking about something completely different. Money doesn’t buy happiness though. Look at all the millionaires who commit suicide or overdose. They don’t seem too happy to me.

Not only does he have it easier because paycheck, nutrition, transport, pretty much anything regular people worry about is taken care of for him... He's also been in this public role for almost a decade!

When you post stupid **** on social media, it's a call for attention. Like a girl posting "Omg I'm having a terrible day" and when people ask why "do not disturb"

He actually thinks he is a franchise talent and is entitled to more than the giant **** contract he is getting.

No thanks demar I've seen your terrible decision making, long 2s, bad defense and pouting to refs (or clothesline frustration hack fouls) too often.
