Not for nothing, just a possibility thought.

I heard RJ didn’t play for whatever reason and he’s not injured…Knicks always wanted OG so…maybe something brewing there.

og would look good on almost any team. he's the perfect player that might push you over the hump this season and is worth giving up assets for because he can be a core player long term

I don't think we move him just for picks. I think a young player has to be coming back for us to bite

og for young player + 1-2 firsts (depending where they might convey, or how far in the future they are)

Raps aren't interested in wings who not only have poor shooting numbers but who also avg 0.7 combined steals and blocks per 36 and poor ast/to ratios. Trust me.

I don't hate it. he's improved and he's locked up. his contract isn't horrible ($27m annually) averaging 20pts (54% ts) and still just 22

throw in mitchell robinson for some dead weight on our side and the best picks we can pry from them

RJ, Siakam and Scottie is a terrifying trio in a bad way.

I think OG, Siakam and Scottie are a bad fit but RJ, Scottie and Siakam would give me nightmares lol.

Y'all overrating a guy who is usually a good bet to miss 15-20 games per season.

I love ADOBE Monet, yet some of these takes and trade proposals are as ridiculous as people posting first page real estate in game threads.

For those that want Cam, go watch a few Suns games. He is so slow footed its ridiculous. Also, you hit more open 3s when you have a hall of fame PG in Paul, a future hall of fame shooter in Booker and still a decent high FG scoring C and a solid swingman in Bridges. Cam is exactly the kind of guy you want to avoid and over pay where on another team you see a sudden drop in his production. To me he is net zero value as a FA.

Best case for the Raps is to get one promising project like a Daniels or Sharpe plus a pick and maybe a vet on a good contract.

We will regret trading OG for sure. Our bigger problem is our offense stalls with Gary and too much ISO ball.

In Toronto OG will never be more than a 4th or 5th option. I assume OG wants to be more like a 2nd or 3rd option.

It makes no sense to blame other guys for taking OG's shots. This is a roster construction issue.

Gary is the best shooter on the team and there is no way OG is the better offensive player.

Pascal and Fred take the most shots and then whoever has it going between OG, Scottie and Gary is the rest of the pecking order.

Pascal has by far the highest usage on the team at 28%, Fred and Gary are around the same at 22% (it's the lowest Fred has been in a few years, and has been trending down over the year now that everyone is healthy) and OG, Scottie and Precious are all around 20%.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Cam is a great addition to a team that's ready to win. He doesn't belong on a team that's essentially rebuilding making the kind of money he is asking for.

That same headline also said it's unlikely he'd get what he was asking for in 4/85 so it's going to be somewhere in-between. You're going to be paying this guy 18-19 million a year. Does an extra 1 or 2 million really mean that much?

Lol @ 85 million. What he finally gets is going to blow that out of the water based on last summers deals.

well ****, if that's the case then I guess get comfortable paying OG 30-35 million a year for his upcoming extension, eh?

People think Nick went rogue here but I think it is possible that he was instructed to say this as a message to other teams to start calling.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Nurse's answer makes sense. Management obviously told him that OG trades are being looked at.

He can't say "injury is worse than we thought so we need him to rest" - tanks value
He can't say "holding OG out for precautionary reasons" - tanks value
He can't say "We're looking to trade OG" - tanks value

I think he went with the play dumb approach

At least I hope this is the case haha

Now that I think about it, this makes perfect sense. I hope that's the case and not Nurse trying to outsmart himself and talk too much.

I was somewhat close on my approximations...but the main point is: only so many shots to go around but not enough ball.

I honestly can't blame guys for believing they deserve a bigger share of shots and on paper...everyone is happy with roughly 20ish% usage but reality is it is an untenable situation.

I hear you on that! If it Nurse going rogue then the franchise is in for a rocky few years

It does because it shows your hand, works the same way in any sale really.

It's the difference between someone overpaying because the perception is they need to pry the player away from you versus the player already being available, you just need to find a price. If I know you're looking to sell I'll start low and see where we get. If the perception is that you're not interested in selling X, then I'll more motivated to offer something higher to get the deal done.

Bones Hyland is a great example. Denver said they want to trade him. Most offer they get are going to be way below what they actually want since teams know they're motivated to move him.
