The odds of Nowell winning a ring and making the allstar team are extremely low? Ya dont say.

You realize you're part of the problem right. I'm still not sure why people keep getting upset that people are comparing fvv to another smaller guard.
Kobe has been compared to Michael his whole career. Lebron to magic and Michael. Everyone is being compared to everyone. Why are you so obsessed with fvv that it makes you so upset any time someone compares him with someone else?

People who are wrong about everything will rejoice in the fact they identified Nowell as not having what it takes to play in the NBA when coming to that conclusion is like going to the racetrack and refraining from betting on a 125/1 horse.

Yea we don't need more self marketer or bet on yourself type here. Glad he has bombed early to save ourself the trouble of having the next "underdog fan favorite"

Because the comparison makes absolutely no sense. Fvv isnt as sh*tty a player as the geniuses on here think he is. The odds nowell comes anything close to what fvv is today are extremely low. And if he does consider that a huge win for the raptors.
Why are you this upset defending a player thst isn't even on the team any more? I'm not sure what people get trying to prove fvv is better than people think. The guy shot 39/34 on a 41/41 team last year and played an ugly brand of dribble dribble basketball. I'm not sure why people are willing to be a martyr for a player of this calibre especially considering the role he was put in and the amount of investment and opportunity the franchise gave him. He's now getting paid more than kyrie Irving. He's winning in life. But raptors fans who have watched him year after year are allowed to think he sucks.

Youre happy a Raptors prospect is failing so he doesnt get the chance to market himself and make money. Do you still consider yourself a fan of this team? Because thats a really psychotic take.

Im not upset but the comp makes absolutely zero sense. This isnt personal to me .. it simply lacks logic. No one is martyring fred, you realize the odds that nowells career looking anything like freds is completely low? So why the comp. And if it does, for an undrafted 2 way player, would that not be a huge win for the team? You ppl act like fred is a useless player. He has immense value in this league...

Rooting for a guy to fail that makes 500k this season and would be affordable to keep long-term is so wild to me. This thread is actually embarrassing.

I think what people don't want to see is another dude thats trying to put himself above the team, and do it at a non-star level.
Personally Im rooting for nowell. But I don't think it's ridiculous for fans who are excited that one dribble happy, selfish chucker left, to make direct comparisons to another player with potential to have a similar playstyle.
I can see the similarities in that they're both very ball dominant and tend to hold the ball way too long, and they have that chip on their shoulder that makes them want to prove they belong in the league so they go over the top to achieve their goals that may be at the expense of the team. It's not crazy to see the comparisons. Fans just want to deviate from that style of play and mentality... it would actually be ridiculous to celebrate a players departure only to welcome a similar player in for no reason. Logically that makes less sense.

Well you are doubling down on the stance and it makes no sense to me. Do you think fred has any market value? Is he an NBA player? If so for a two way undrafted signee, if you get another fvv thats a huge win and we ACTUALLY WANT THAT. but really the odds of that are slim.
And just to close the loop nowell cannot project to be anything like fred. At the highest level a 5 7 guard will not be putting up 3pa at the volume fred was..its not possible.

might be okay in the 905 (not on a 2-way) but don't think he's really worth developing.
I wouldn’t even bring him into camp.

Hey I am not causing him to fail. You need to have better reading comprehension. I am happy his flaws and short comings are exposed before the team invest in him further.
I don't want to see another tiny guy on court after suffering through Fred last season.

Markquis might make it. It would be quiet the story if he does. SL has shown to me that path will take time if it were to happen. He's gonna need to be way ahead on IQ to compensate for his size. That's life. That's reality. So far I haven't enjoyed watching him play. He was fun in NCAA. We shall see. Looks like he's forcing it to me.
