Im seeing some of this talk from online fans these last few days. If Pelicans and Trailblazers wont pony up their young prospects and we have to trade OG, RJ wouldnt be a bad piece to get back. He is only 22 and is a big wing that is sought after

It does because it shows your hand, works the same way in any sale really.

It's the difference between someone overpaying because the perception is they need to pry the player away from you versus the player already being available, you just need to find a price. If I know you're looking to sell I'll start low and see where we get. If the perception is that you're not interested in selling X, then I'll more motivated to offer something higher to get the deal done.

Bones Hyland is a great example. Denver said they want to trade him. Most offer they get are going to be way below what they actually want since teams know they're motivated to move him.

A player being known to be available doesn't really tank his value. You just need more than one team who wanted Bones Hyland or OG or whoever. They aren't bidding against you, they are bidding against each other. If only one team wants them, maybe it might hurt a bit.

I don't like this for the Raptors at all. None of the players coming our way are all that promising. The three picks are nice, but they probably all end up in the 20s. I much prefer Cam + 2 firsts.

Of course. If you think he's being paid 20-25 in an environment where tyler Herro and Clarkson as 6th men get 30 per, no. I'm really not sure why people have such a problem comprehending cap inflation. Maybe if it was always labelled as a percentage of the cap it would be easier.

For example, OG at 30 million is 22% of the cap next year (although he has one more year and the cap would be more and % less). To compare, that's 23 million in 2020 cap dollars which is only slightly more that what FVV signed for as a much less established player.

So if you think its some kind of gotcha moment that he gets 30-35, lol, no it really isn't.

And Cam Johnson doesn't get a contract worth less than 15% of the cap.

Scoring is way more important with a little bit of defense is all you need. OG is fumbling and bumbling out there trying to be a offensive star when he'd be better being a catch and shoot 3 and D role player but he's delusional and thinks he's better than what he is. That is a liability in itself imo.

Nwora makes this interesting, but you'll have to move 2 more guys from our roster as we only have 1 open spot. I can't see any readjustment that works if you're committed to that package from Milwaukee. However, if you replace Hill, Nwora and Serge with Grayson Allen, it works just fine. The Bucks could keep the 2nd in that scenario.

We only have 1 empty roster spot, so we can only bring in 1 more player than we send out. Your proposal brings in 3 more bodies. You would have to waive 2 of our current players before the trade (or trade them somewhere with no players coming back)to accept Serge and Hill. I agree that Allen coming back is questionable, but there have been suggestions that he could be available.

We know the Bucks want Crowder, and the Suns might find that Hill, Nwora, Serge and a 2nd is the best they'll get for him, in which case they'll do that trade. Expanding it to include Toronto only works if you substitute Allen for Serge et al. The Bucks would keep that 2nd, which is something, and maybe an additional 2nd, presumably from us, would be enough to get it done.

OG is nothing like Gobert on defense with his limitation and nothing like Simmons on offense and those are just bad comparisons. And scoring is not way more important, it's only half the game. And just average defensive teams don't win titles without a top 5 all time player having the best year ever.

And he averages 2 TOs a game while learning to play better/more versatile. That is also not anything to be overly concerned about and hardly a liability.
