I'm a Zach Edey fan.

He will go in the first round, I think.

So why cant Zach Edey be Brook Lopez? Honest question. Everyone keeps telling me he's too slow for the NBA but Brook Lopez is slow af too, and dude was in DPOY convo's.

Mind you Leonard is playing G league, so he is already more use to NBA spacing and pace. I don't think he will be a bust. Probably decent back up at worst

Brook is a bit of an anomaly who turned himself from a post player to a 3 point shooter. But he’s a good model for guys like Edey to follow

Because Edey is slow processing things and not dominant enough to impose his own pace on others in the NBA. Edey was a physical freak in college who couldn't be dealt with and he had a good work ethic and enough feel for the game to take advantage of his physical advantages.

But his physical advantage will diminish in the NBA and his feel for the game isn't going to be enough to allow him to put his body to use and take over.

I don't know if I'd go that far, he has his opinions and I wouldn't take him any more seriously than posters here - like myself ;)

Still, regarding Scoot, TBH for all the hype, I wasn't overly impressed. Sure he had some moments but overall he's very inefficient and didn't seem to have that defensive edge that I like to see (that's just me though).

As for the Dowtin comparison by Lou, well, not only is Dowtin a bit physically bigger, he had comparable stats with much less usage, was far more efficient and was a better defender - though he is 26 and probably topped out. Good thing Scoot is only 19 but honestly, I was far more impressed with Black, Smith and Cason.

There are some things about Scoot that scream star and there are others that scream complete bust, I'm not sure which will win. I'm just glad the Raptors don't have to find out.

He can. His stats are great (PER - 40). His measurements are great. Personality is great. A good coach would find a role for him in the league.

A team like DAL will draft him late and he will play 10 years in the league.

They're biased against a rebuild because they feel it's bad for ratings. At least in in the short term , they may be correct about that. But it doesn't change the fact their opinion is biased.

Damn, boy looking like Yao Lopez out there. If he's got that in the bag he's an NBA player imo.

Why's that? Gut?

For myself I see Scoot as a bust, he has shades of DSJ for me.

I'm pretty low on Scoot too. You have to bring a lot to the table to be a scoring guard who doesn't shoot well and doesn't play defense. This guy is getting compared to prime Westbrook but he can't lick Westbrook's shoes athletically. That's like comparing Auser to Amen athletically in this draft.

;ab_channel=NBAGLeague

Hes clearly got some skills at his age....Thing people forget is how raw Sikam was as a 22 year old rookie...Scoot is just 19 and already is ways ahead of what a Siakam/FVV were coming into the league and look at them now they are the 1st and 2nd options on our team...

Im pretty confident if we develop Scoot or even Miller the right way they both have a chance to be much better than Siakam....plus whichever player we could potentially get could grow with Barnes...

Development and working hard is all either Scoot , Miller need cause they are both really talented at their ages.

This is a good read, but the Raptors would not go for him even if we had a second round pick. He will be a bench scorer for another team.

I can’t see OG ever being able to do that. And OG is my baseline comp for him.

Coulibaly’s skills are much better than people give him credit for. He has a lot of work to do but you don’t have to lay the foundation and build an entire house with him. He’s a shell of a house. Just need to pick out kitchen cabinets, flooring, and fixtures.

Hopefully the analogy makes sense lol.

I think he’s going to be a stud.
