The fact that the best team we might see in a long time currently 24-1 on pace to break winning records.....Has not 1 but 2 Top 10 picks in a stacked 2026 draft class should worry everyone. OKC are really blowing everyone out the water in terms of team building that its not even close

Wow. There was a time we were considered top tier... wtf?? Is this (assessment) a result of Masai departure?

Raps have definitely not impressed ... their draft record / picks have been quite poor. Over pays on most FA signings... pressure is definitely on this management... and ownership.

Before the reset and OG/Siakam trades, we had a period of time where Masai and Bobby barely did any transactions. They held on to the old core for too long, rested in their laurels and now we’ve developed a culture of losing again.

What this team needed after Masai left wasn’t a continuity of what wasn’t working. It should have been a complete overhaul. New FO, coaching staff, scouting, etc. New uniforms. Instead they are trying to hold on to an era that has passed by.

Got way too comfortable and i am not a fan of Bobby at all....I feel hes one of the reasons we have been team mid for so long....What should have happened was a total reset when we lost FVV for nothing in Free agency....But then again i am not confident in Bobbys drafting as he has not made many good picks lately....So even playing the drafting game seems like a gamble with this Front office....Think we need new people in charge at this point....Someone with a new vision.

Im not a fan of him either but what if you hire an office that puts us back 10 yrs like the Kings?

The grass is not always greener on the other side

Although we are not as bad as the Kings....We are not any better than them Gay/Cousins teams were.....We are just a mid team trying to compete....Im just not a huge Bobby guy....I think someone can do a better job than what he is doing....We need someone with a brand new vision and someone who is better at drafting....Don't think Bobby is good when it comes to roster construction and the lack of fit on our current team proves that.

We are in year 1 of jumping up. It doesn't happen over night.

Did people expect to be lottery to a top team in 1 year? And I say this as someone who has no issue criticizing Mgt.

Exactly.

And it's been a couple years of being bad, so people are also over-sensitized to losing. Right now, we're playing like a .500 team. Which, given our roster and our health, sounds about right, give or take some luck. And that's a significant step forward from winning 30 games last year, even if you allow for the impact of tanking.

Yup.

We should still be looking to improve this year of course if it presents itself. But this year is just the beginning.

Agreed. We can't be too hasty. We're trying to be a winning team, but it doesn't all happen at once. We have flaws. We have impediments. We've had some health issues scraping away some of what could have been success.

But the core does work reasonably well when it's together, and we can start looking at making moves to support and bolster it. And that's where we're at until a cooler opportunity comes along. And that's just fine. It's a lot better than 30 wins and dwelling at the bottom of the league.

That's also why it was odd at some being so upset at loosing to the Knicks.

We have 2 guys over 26 years old(coach Temple doesn't count). Knicks have 1 under 27 in McBride in their rotation.

Knicks have done a consolidation trade for a max player player. Raps have not.

Knicks traded away 5 1sts for Bridges. Raps have all their picks still.

Just 2 teams in completely different stages.

Oh yeah, the Knicks are a good team. They made the ECFs last year. They have won 50+ in consecutive seasons, and 47 the year before that. Three straight years making at least the EC Semis. Jalen Brunson is better than anyone on our team. KAT is, too. And then they still have Josh Hart and Mikal Bridges, both of whom would be up there against most of our guys.

So yeah, not at all teams in the same stream. Not surprising we lost. Same same the Lakers, really.

It's the losses to Charlotte which REALLY burn. And to a lesser extent, Portland.

Nah i don't expect to be a top team with the current roster we have at all....For me its not about the W/L record on the season thats almost pointless to me because right now the Eastern conference is the worst its ever been in a long time.....Like horrendous tbh....Its not hard to be an above .500 team in this current landscape...

My concern is more with the roster construction, The players we have and are trying to push to be players we think they can be but most likely won't reach it....The lack of fit, lack of young talent that looks to have any kind of break outs in them....For me i just don't see much to be excited about....

Just think someone could do a better job than what this current management been doing since 2020.

Brunson with 2x as many FGA as any other Knick. This won't work in the playoffs (to the extent that they need it to, ie Finals).

FG’s is an archaic way to look at it though. Man has a 64% TS. That’s as efficient as you can get in a playoff like setting.

Lets just be honest here, they were built on one trade that any GM would have taken without thinking for a second.

But either way, I doubt they get Utah's pick. Only a matter of time for their shameless tank to begin.

This game is depressing to watching, knowing how far behind we are from them.
