What a disaster of an off season.

Funny that, I feel like it’s been perfectly fine.

it's all cool man. the raptors have a team in toronto that won a chip and are on a new journey. buckle up or get off the ride. it ain't that deep.

After the Dame-then-Hawks/Siakam-then-Dame-again dance I think the bargaining stage for the Nurse/Fred copers should be over, but I just saw a Harden thread pop-up so maybe they're still a few months away.

Meanwhile, the trade deadline truthers like me get to notch another W after the out-of-nowhere Bucks trade involving rumoured Fred trade assets comes through.

Not a bad posters day on the old forum all-in-all.

Dodged a bullet on some ill-fated win-now attempt that's far worse than last-year's win now opportunity (Durant) and this place melts down

BDE here.

God, I love this for Toronto. Masai - once again - proving why he's playing 4D chess and everyone else in this league is playing a simple game of checkers.

Well. Check-mate, mate.

The offer was Siakim and a protected 1st for Lillard. That's what I heard. Take it or leave it, couldn't care less. Masai would not budget when Portland wanted OG and filler and a 1st instead.

This front office believes in OG. He's our anchor defensively and without him, this team struggles. Can't wait until he extends and we keep this dude long term in this city. Yes Masai, well played.

I said 12 hours yesterday and I was right. Typical BDE. Typical Masai. Let's goooo.

It's moreso the lack of direction if we traded Pascal/OG for assests and I'd be totally happy with a rebuild. (Also not stupidly trade for Yak). But now we have a worst team with a low ceiling and could very well give a 7-12 pick to San Antonio all while being in no man's land. Oh Pascal and OG are FA's as well. With OG being a major flight risk.

Some days I really think Colangelo’s wife and Ed Rogers’ lackeys are running a covert operation on this board.

Hinkie, if you’re reading this - please find the evidence and leak it to the Ringer.

I’d say that’s crazy. But when I started reading people crediting BC for Masais success. It makes you wonder.

What a terrible trade all around. Bucks reek of desperation, Portland just keeps treadmilling, and Phoenix gives up on Ayton for a bunch of scrubs.

Have to hand it to the Bucks though, they put their money where their mouth is. But they're so old now, doesn't feel like they will have the legs to overcome the Celtics.

To be fair, there are also 2-3 posters who one would swear work for MLSE.

Ironic, I often wonder if the Masai fanboys here are MLSE employees. Corporate suits in charge aren't going to pay tens of millions of dollars in front office salaries with 3+ seasons of mediocre results. Larry T isn't enough to protect washed Masai any longer.

With the way MLSE pays I doubt they have time. Probably busy with their 2nd job.

I think direction is defined by deal opportunity, and that it's fine not to compromise if a deal doesn't move the needle significantly enough.

This FO was once content to trade Lowry when they were about to abuse the Knicks (again) and then they were happy to go the other direction and trade for Kawhi.

Maybe I'm biased from a work experience that places a premium on being able to pivot to market conditions quickly, but I'm COMPLETELY unbothered by "lack of direction". I think it's a fan-driven narrative, and that smart businesses (even sports businesses) are agile and will take advantage where they can.

I actually think a tell-tale sign of bad management is being married to a specific ideology, while accepting sub-optimal outcomes along the way as long as you remain committed to it.

Bucks reek of desperation by becoming top 2 title favorites for next 2-3 years lol

Bring that level of "desperation" to TO please!!!
