Wow. That is crazy. I hope that doesn't impact him moving forward. A plate and 10 screws from an inadvertent kick to the hand. Damn.

This also is a nice reminder to all the boneheads that were trying to say that the surgery was superfluous and not needed. Players just LOVE having tons of metal put into their hand just to help tank the team

11 boards seems unlikely. 8 or 9 seems a little more likely.
22 points seems quite achievable, especially if he can get his shot back like the first chunk of the year, and maybe look a little better in the middle. 7, 8 assists seems possible as well if guys are hitting shots.

Achievable. He was at 2.8 stocks this year, yeah? 1.3 and 1.5, IIRC.

What the hell? Why does his hand look like that after all this time? I hope the surgery doesn't need to get redone again because his hand looks deformed. At least it is the non-shooting hand.

Re: Official Scottie All Star Barnes Thread 8
Scottie's rebound total will be heavily influenced by how they use him defensively. At the start of the year, they played him closer to the basket in a roaming, offball defensive role and he was averaging around 10 boards game (and around 7 defensive boards). Then his role shifted and he was used more on the perimeter against guards/wings and his rebounds totals became a lot less consistent.
At Florida St coming into the draft, a lot of scouts were pointing to his rebounding as a negative aspect of his game, but it became pretty obvious early that it was mostly due to Florida St using him so much on the perimeter defensively. Not as many rebounding opportunities out there.

Is per 75 a thing now? I don't recall seeing it very much, any ideas why it's being used vs per 100?

I think it's based on the fact that good/great NBA players play around 75 possessions per game on average

I believe jalen rose had the same sort of injury when he played here. He still talks about the plate and screws he has.
Looking forward to his play next season.

I guess I’ll have to trust the medical professionals on this one but a plate and screws just for a fractured metacarpal? The hell? It’s like make-work for the plate industry.
Oh well maybe his offhand will be even stronger now. If you foul him there you’re hitting reinforced metal, ggs

Jokes aside, he looks more fluid in his movements so far, but pylon defence drills aren't much to go by. Nice to see him working out already. Funnily enough, if he were to improve his stats a slight bit more, and we were around a .500 record, he could be a solid candidate for 3rd team.
Stats wise this season for 3rd team was :
Hali : 20/4/11
Booker : 27/4.5/7
Sabonis : 19/14/8 (Criminal that he is 3rd team)
Lebron : 26/7/8
Curry : 26/4.5/5
Last year Scottie put up 20/8/6, so he's not far off, especially with Lebron and Curry likely slowing down a bit due to age. 23/9/7 I think gets him there, and it's not a crazy leap, but it will require him playing closer to the basket on defence and stop using him as a POA defender.

Thaddy wrote:Barnes should be the SF going forward and a perimeter player. I would consider starting Poeltl and Olynyk.
Poeltl - Filipowski (19)
Olynyk - Klintman (31)
Barnes - Agbaji
Barrett - Dick
Quickely - Brown
Klitman-Dick is a high rizz bench

With the way the Raps are making him centre of attention and catering to his strengths, all nba is definitely on the horizon for him. Raps need to raise their level as whole for him to get recognized. So lots more work to do

I'm on board with team "Start gradey, bench RJ" because I think it's a better fit for the team and Scotties play style. But our roster as a whole is anemic so, maybe we start them both and have dumpster tier defence lol.
