This made Dallas amazing. As for the sixers? Duck them.
I believe in Masai.

This is where I'm at.

We caught the league off-guard when transactions were still transactions and not rigged shadow deals, and games weren't as heavily controlled by gambling and storylines.

If anyone things 2026 will be any different, remember that Kyrie is out for the year and AD will inevitably miss 60 games. Dallas will draft top 3 again in a loaded class.

I'd love the 4th pick too.

But I wouldn't want to gut our roster to get the 4-6th pick.

Happily gut our roster. Not in love with any of them.

Yes, let's celebrate the key person who lifted this organization out of poverty franchise status leaving.

You don't get a free pass for a half decade because you did something in 2019. That applies to front office members as much as players. Put his name in the rafters all you want but he badly needs to go and this franchise badly needs to find some direction again.

Don't think Maluach is going to last all the way to 9, but I'd be happy to be proven wrong
I think he'll be there. If he gets drafted 7th or 8th then im wrong and the slight slip clearly mattered lmao :)

Why is drafting 9th instead of 6th good? The scouting could do the same good work and be earlier in the draft and less chance of missing out on guys...

We don't have to sugarcoat everything

you are right. every single draft, #6 has been better than every pick under it.

the realistic take is that after you get past top 3 or 4, there's alot of similar talents that nobody can predict how they develop at the next level. there's no sugar coating.

there are folks here that would rather have franz over scottie now.
Its not "good news" though is my point. 9th is the lower end of how things could have turned out. Not great.

Its just not the end of the world either. I think we end up with maluach regardless of if we stayed 7th or dropped a spot or two. Probably less of a reach at 9th.

i trust our evaluators. it is what it is. this seems to be the type of draft #11 turns out better than #5.

Do you see who won the lotto? Dallas a team who made the play in… which most of you would be crying about if we made it to the play in.

This just proves tanking doesn’t guarantee anything. And you pro tankers are too blind to see it lol

If Masai could gut our mediocre roster to get Giannis, I guarantee you he'd do it.

Unfortunately, the Bucks are gonna get offered much more than that.

Do the Pelicans or Nets need a center....that's what you have to ask because they're picking at 7/8

If the argument against tanking is that the nba will just fix the lottery and pick whoever they want then sure you guys can have your victory lap lol

The argument is that since the lottery odds are flattened it’s not worth gutting your team for a “chance” at the number 1 pick.

Tanking with the new odds is not the same as before, which is what many of us were trying to tell y’all

Yea I’d rather have the 5th or 6th pick than the 9th. What’s there to argue?

Even with all our injuries we were never going to out tank those 2 scrub teams.

You know we were games ahead of Philadelphia at the deadline right? The same Philadelphia team that just moved up to grab the third pick. We also dropped 2 spots last lottery as well. It just goes to show you that you either go all in for the tank or you try to compete and pray for luck like Atlanta and Dallas if you fall short. But no more half measures.

I trust them too... but a lot of the times they recognize a talent thats not in their reach... giannis. Sga. Etc. Id rather be 6th than 9th for that exact reason. Just to avoid something like that happening. I just dont think theres an argument for "good news". Thats galaxy brain, got em right where we want em, type stuff. :)

Waste of a season. I’m with team compete now would have made no difference if we tried to win games instead we tanked for the 9th pick lol
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.
