Not bad. Rudy might as well have been auditioning for this trade in the Clippers game at the ACC. Starting Caron Butler would be a strong tank move.

That's what I got from that as well.

First thing I thought about was OKC with Perry Jones & Jeremy Lamb. Or SAS with Co-Jo.

The only people that care about why BC was not there are those trying to stir unnecessary controversy.
It's time to move on..

COULD make sense, Hollins is interested in the Clippers job and was mad when Memphis ownership traded away Rudy. HMMMM

I caught that too. Ujiri is president of Raptors basketball. BC is president of Raptors business. Confusing titles but whatever.

For that to be successful, we need a basketball identity first.

Masai said the right things now he has to build it.

It's gonna come down to his staff evaluating the roster. They'll realize we're not a good team. He also preached building a team the right way and patience.

Casey: Build our defensive strategy around stopping Luke Walton.

This was actually something I suggested they should do (in terms of Masai's title) a couple of weeks ago in a thread. I'm glad they did.

Otherwise it makes the organizational structure a little confusing because on paper it looks like BC is Masai's superior. Which clearly isn't the case.

Why so hush-hush about the direction this team is going? I mean, isn't it kind of obvious that he knows which way he's going..

Why not reveal?

Here's the deal, that deal only works if they do it before re-signing Paul, since they are under the cap currently. But, they have to be sure Paul is coming back, because if they make that trade, and Paul signs with someone else, they have have nobody else at PG, and are effectively screwed and hoodwinked.

HOWEVER, I think trading for Gay would strengthen Paul's chances of re-signing, since he was an Olympic teammate of his and Griffin's.

That's a doable trade imo.

Yeah, but there is no reason that they can't develop these things at the same time. Start developing inexpensive role players at the back end of the roster.

Exactly why I'd like to see them purchase their own NBDL team.

Yeah I definitely think that's apart of the strategy (ie/ buy the Mavs pick)

In this draft it wouldn't surprise me if the targets are Bennett, Shabazz...Goodwin & Kabongo later

Something of that nature....never made sense wasting cash on guys like Pietrus.

I knew something like this was going to happen. It's the smart approach.

I am sure him and TL have already discussed which way to go. The "We don't want to just make the playoffs but win a championship" talk indirecly says that we are re-building and changing over this roster.

That's all I needed to hear really.

It should be fun seeing his action during the draft and the months ahead.
