Some executive said that by his 3rd year Wemby will be the best offensive and best defensive player in the entire league, must have been Bobby Webster.

Even though his g-league coach raves about his work ethic I mean every coach tries to hype up their players. I wonder if Scoot has the drive to be great or not, I guess it's up to front offices to figure that out. The framework is there but his shooting and defensive consistency needs to improve. If you're being talked about as a generational talent you better be shooting the 3 ball at 36%+ as a guard and get your FT% over 80%.

I think Scoot is another example of a kid who needs a good organization to bring him along. I'm not worried about where a guy like Cason Wallace ends up but Scoot needs to be kept on the right path and pushed in order for him to realize his potential. If he ends up with the kind of shooting percentages Ja Morant puts up it will be extremely disappointing.

As an FYI he's being mentored by Steph Curry.

Looked alright, did role player things.

10 points, 0/4 from the 3 point line, 2/3 from the FT line, 2 rebound, 1 assists.

Maybe unless he gets hurt. Porzingis missed a whole year and Chet already missed a whole year.

I only caught half the 3rd (him and Wemby not in) and the 4th. Bilal missed 2 wide open corner 3's, he's made for the Raptors.

Honestly, I know this league is men but it looks like no one is taller than Bilal except Wemby.

Wemby draws double team so the defense is porous for the other players. JHS has pretty good physical profile but TJD was a powerhouse, thus I don't buy JHS as a prospect.

Victor is something else man. Jesus.

He's so weak but should be at least Kristaps Porzingis. But not sure how much better?

NY didn't want to pay Porzingis? Dallas dumped him for Dinwiddie! lol

I don't understand the disrespect for VW. Comparing him to Porzingis? Can't handle the NBA players?

Look at this video:

;ab_channel=NoCeilingsNBA

1. Right now he plays against guys that are stronger, quicker, shorter, as tall in a men's league.
2. Teams try to body him, he takes outside and beats them off the dribble. They put a smaller guy on him he takes them in post. They double him he passes it.
3. This isn't a league with a lot of true bigs. He's better at being Embiid than Embiid. Embiid won MVP this season. He shoots better than Embiid. More mobile than Embiid. Taller than Embiid. Better passer than Embiid. Better handle than Embiid. Plus he has an array of post moves. Not only that given his lighter frame, he can be less injured.

I tell you now, this take that VW is not great is going to look very bad. I will probably forget it tomorrow but others on this board will remind you next year when you compared him to Porzingis. His floor might be Anthony Davis.

Kristaps was 20 as a rookie and contributed right away. Phil Jackson swung of the fences and hit a HR with the 5th pick, unfortunatel all of his other ones were busts. Only thing is Porzingis isn't able to play more than like 75% of a season.

I like Porzingis and he played on an allstar level this year. His defense is at least average and he's like 50/38/85 shooting! Wemby's defense may be closer to AD. Just saying it may take 2-3 years. They really should monitor his minutes to 24-28 mins his rookie year to avoid injury as they usually only play 1 game per week in the French league.

I think Wemby makes everyone look smaller. The league has many true 7 footers and some great athletes (Jeremy Evans). I think the Jeep league is overall bigger than the Gleague, and you have repeatedly touted Cissoko "dunking on guys."

Has Bilal been dunking on people?

All seem to be clean and mostly open. He does look smooth gliding around though. I guess his floor is a taller Derrick Jones Jr.

Wemby 3 pt % stats don't jump off the screen exactly.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

He's like 7'4 Chet. Wemby may not be as good at shooting the 3 as Chet and Porzingis.

Chet could win ROY. It would be wild that the "greatest draft prospect ever or 2nd to Lebron" doesn't win ROY.

I don't know, but that's not the point I was making. The Gleague is an open run league with very few 7 footers (I think only 5 players over 7 feet played more than 500 minutes). As soon as Koloko checked in he dominated defensively. Moses Brown looks like Moses Malone in the Gleague. It's the smaller league.

Wemby shoots 3's off dribble moves and stepbacks. Percentages almost don't matter in this context, you want him to be closer to 33-34 percent to make those shots consistently viable in the NBA. But it's still more impressive and useful than a guy like Grant Williams shooting 40 percent, when all he does is shoot them wide open from the corner.

Same reason Fred is still a better shooter than OG. When Wemby has better guards to make plays for him, his percentages will rise, plus the added danger of him creating one for himself, means he's gonna be deadly out there in a year or two.

Just gonna wait for Silver inevitably calling out Bilal Coulibaly for our pick while Jay Bilas and Jalen sit in stunned silence.

Jay's Best Five Available list will be sitting there looking like hot garbage, as always.
