When he was being interviewed, he thanked God for making this happen. I feel that he will be a good player for the Raptors, but I'm just not into injecting religion into sports, politics and general life.

but the NBA can inject lbgtq movements(blm), gambling and lecture fans. If hes religious just respect it.

How stupid are you to think LGBTQ and BLM are the same

Walter is a movement shooter in the NBA and not much more at this time. On offense, it's probably not super valuable to watch the plays where he's doing more than catching and shooting.

The amounts of fouls he draws is impressive and it's possible there's something more that's being overlooked. Beyond just shooting, his first step honestly looks pretty decent so he's not completely helpless but the handle looks pretty weak right now.

The splits are really bared, compared to just about anyone, even for a freshman. The excuse is his usage was probably higher than it should have been for a freshman guard, but really there's virtually no one that amounted to anything that shot that bad from 2 and 3 in their freshman year.

I’m confused as to why we traded a first rounder for ochai if were going to roster 4 rookies anyway?

I think Masai just overvalued Ochai by the looks of things. Probably liked him as a prospect and thought maybe the shooting would rebound with change of scenery. He was a very promising shooter coming out of college.

He wanted Ochai and Kelly?

Mystery boxes are always fun but a lot of 29th picks in the draft don't pan out. We shall see if Collier's fall in draft charts was warranted or not.

If Collier doesn't pan out...Toronto wins the trade even if Ochai isn't an NBA player because we still got Kelly for a few years and he's at least a serviceable NBA player.

I was more confused by the fact that we traded for Ochai when he is a complete scrub.

We got plus value for #29 in two rotation guys, and then got #45 thrown in to take on salary, and #57 was free.

What is hard to understand here?

I understand WHAT happened and why. But if you literally say you traded the pick because you don’t want develop a bunch of rookies and then do it anyway on lesser talents, is that not a tad confusing? Kelly isn’t gonna be playing meaningful minutes when this team makes the playoffs, veteran leadership, Canadian yada yada… all I’m saying is the direction leaves question marks.

Getting Davion and two second rounders for absolutely nothing is completely understandable, but it remains contradictory to his comments earlier in the season.

I'm liking this culture their building. IQ, Ja'Kobe, RJ and Davion. They have connection with each other and are hard workers. Davion and Ja'Kove from Baylor. IQ and RJ with Knicks and IQ and Ja'Kobe know each other. Include Scottie and Mogbo you have a potential identity. Still need more talent but the potential identity is there.

...and knowing what we know now...if we kept #29...we probably would have used it Mogbo anyways.

Then would still have taken Shead at 31 and then Chomche at 45.

The results of the draft is the same if had kept #29 or not...except that we now also have Kelly and Ochai as well.

It really is not that simple. Regardless of what happened, we were going to have rookies / young players at the end of the bench or on two-ways.

If you draft a guy at #29 instead of #57 there is the likliehood he is going to be with the big club more, which means the big club needs the resources to develop him. Comche at #57 is going to be in the G-League pretty much all year and is going to be using the 905 resources. Snead to will be gone for a significant chunk of the season I would guess.

So instead of guys like JFL/Geuye, those are now Comche and Snead.
