Gortat
I want Gortat!
Was in HK getting new Visa and was able to see part of Phoenix and Denver game on TV.
Gasol was playing very decent defense setting picks and penetrating.
He would be great with Bargs.
I know everyone is high on Gasol but think Gortat much better.
Gortat for Amir, Weems & Miami 1st

Either way I'd trade just about anyone on our roster besides Bargs for Green.
So true. You guys talk about Derozan leaving, there isn't a chance in hell that Davis stays.
I wouldn't trade Derozan either.
What makes you think DD will want to stay? For that matter, why would Green come/stay?
You dont trade guys because they will leave in 6 years time.
Well for one, DeMar has embraced the city and has stated that he enjoys being here... On draft night, it really didn't look like Davis was happy he fell all the way to 13th and was picked by Toronto... In the interviews with him he doesn't seem to really enjoy the fact that he's here.
With all that aside, unless he gains like 30lbs and is willing to play the C, I don't see the point in him being here - we need a real C beside Bargs if were going to have any success. Say we draft a guy like Kanter... What does that do for Ed's future? If we can guarantee a SF of the future in Green, why not go for it? He fits in perfectly with this team, he's a good young talent, and it gives us a more complete team... The primary needs to be filled in the offseason would be PG and C... One of which I really believe can be done through the draft.

Re: 2010 Toronto Raptors Trade Ideas Thread
Except for one less than stellar playoff. This from Hoopswhirled.
HEALTHY - As mentioned above, Green appeared in every game during his collegiate career. In his NBA rookie year, 2007-08, he played in 80 games, starting in 52. In 2008-09, he played and started in 78 games (sidelined four consecutive games for lower-back soreness). And in 2009-10, he played and started in all 82 games. The guy knows how to stay healthy.
YOUNG - Green turns 24 years old in August 2010 and has already established a leadership role both on-court and in the locker room. Far from his prime in terms of playing, he is a disciplined athlete with a strong work ethic, and should improve each year under reigning Coach of the Year, Scott Brooks and alongside mega-talented Durant.
GREAT TEAMMATE - The enviable chemistry of this team is well-known; credit Sam Presti for that fact. He picks high-character, humble, hard-working, unselfish players, and Green is absolutely no exception.
HIGH BASKETBALL IQ - Read this oft-mentioned quote from John Thompson III, Green's former Georgetown coach: "You'll stop and think when I say this, but it's true: Jeff Green is the smartest player I've ever coached. That's a hell of a statement." You won't look far to find people tipping their hat to his basketball intelligence.
DOES THE GLUE THINGS - Every NBA team needs a player that fills in holes, and Green fits that role perfectly. The Thunder asked him to become more of a complete player last season, and he complied. He demonstrates excellent passing skills, a nicely-developed post game, good help-defending, the ability to open lanes and shows confidence in driving to the basket (which is something he should utilize more often). Green is good at many things, but lacks that one stand-out skill.
Since he was talked about as having Bosh value I think Davis plus Barbosa plus a pick is the minimum required. Whether we could get him by other means is less than certain.

We need to pry Haywood from Dallas.. he has fallen behind Mahimi on the depth chart..
All the guy does is bang, block shots, play defense and rebound..its a long contract, but I would swap Reggie for him if Dallas is looking to shed some salary. Even moving Kleiza wouldnt be a bad move for both teams.

We're pretty high on Amir, so we'd probably want more than the Bucks would be willing to give up...I'd want Sanders, CDR, and a 1st (and any necessary filler) for Amir+Weems.

Jan 20th is coming that's when you can include another player(s) with Peja for a trade. I think there will be a trade next week.

We need Dorrell Wright. Solid defender, great shooter, runs the floor, young and on a cheap contract.
Primo would not mind stomaching Beidrin's contract if we were to get Wright. Beidrin isn't exactly chopped liver either if you overlook his contract. If he works out in the long term I do not see him bolting either due to his European heritage.
Barbosa/Kleiza for Wright/Beidrins
PG/Bayless
Derozan/Bayless
Wright/Weems
Bargnani/Davis/Johnson
Beidrins/Davis/Johnson
Everyone is below 25 years old. Everyone can run. 8th+ seed contender for the next 1-2 years, 5-6 seed after 3 years.

Jose has been playing so well that i think we can get value for him. Hes an upgrade over guys like Bibby/Udrih for sure.

Anybody think we can deal Calderon + filler to POR for Pryzbilla and Miller, or in some sort of 3-way where Miller gets shipped off to a third team?

Calderon + Klezia
for
Bibby + Williams
we get better at the SF position and we continue tanking. Hope for a high draft pick and get Irving and my ideal lineup is this.
Irving / Bayless
Derozan / Barbosa
Williams / Weems
Bargnani / Davis
Center (bibby expiring next year) / Johnson / Alabi
+ miami 1st.
even package the miami 1st/Barbosa if it means moving up

Re: 2010 Toronto Raptors Trade Ideas Thread
^^ My idea was similar, but we expand it to include a Barbosa/Crawford swap as well. We clear Leandro's salary opening up 7.6 million in capspace, get a defensive upgrade with Marvin over Kleiza (possibly a slight downgrade offensively, but that's not really a problem for us), and allow more playing time for Bayless to develop this year. Maybe we'd be able to trade Bibby and Crawford for some more rebuilding-friendly assets as well (and if not, we still get the financial benefits of their shorter contracts)

I think you can further simplify the deal.
Keep in mind the Hawks are a few 100k away from the tax threshold so they cant really add salary.
For a playoff team having Bibby on the bench is not the worst thing in the world, and the Hawks can always move him this offseason as an expiring.
Marvin Williams + Mo Evans
for
Jose Calderon.
We can waive Evans when he gets here, and it pulls the Hawks around 800k further from the tax threshold.
If the Hawks need some further depth at the three, a Weems/Teague swap could be added as neither player seems to be quite what their respective teams have hoped.

I don't see how Toronto could possibly turn that down, but ATL should definitely be getting more. We arguably get the two best contracts as well as getting the best young player in the deal. At least throw them Miami's pick and Weems (or Wright for Evans) and maybe you'd have a deal.
I think Jose for Bibby is an upgrade for them, but I see no incentive for them giving up Marvin for Kleiza.

The best player in the deal is Jose, and Atlanta is looking to compete now. They get the younger and much better PG in Jose, and an SF who is performing as well as Marvin offensively, on a contract that's about half as large in Kleiza. It's fair value as is.

add someone small. Jose regardless would have to be asked to waive his trade kicker completely. This way ATL wont go into tax but in any deal that would have to be the case when dealing with Atlanta. Maybe BC goes up to him and says we want you to go to a playoff team and be successful and go far blah blah blah and Calderon agrees, doesnt seem like the kind of person to stick it to Toronto really.

Kaman to Toronto.
Peja, Jose, Kleiza (Miami 1st if anything)
for
Baron, Kaman, Foye
Clippers get their SF.. unloads baron/kaman..
I know Baron doesnt wanna leave LA, maybe we could buy him out after.
T.O gets a good fit beside Bargs..
Baron can be a mentor to Bayless, Foye.. Waive Gaines..
