Nemhard played really well in the World Cup, but you’d be crazy to take him over Mulder. Mulder isn’t an all around talent but he is an elite shooter and good enough every where else to carve out a decent role in Golden State. Nembard was the 6th man at Gonzaga. Obviously was very key in there run, but without any other knowledge could you take a college 6th man over an NBA rotation player?
Where is this meme of Nembhard being good in the World Cup coming from? I remember a very young player who was targeted defensively and could not shoot from the outside. The best I can say about him is he seemed to be able to get into the paint, make a decent pass from time to time and looked somewhat poised for his age.
Maybe he didn't look terrible but I didn't come away too impressed. I actually saw him as a defensive liability.

With that, I don't see any need for Nembhard with CoJo, NAW, TBH and even Barrett and Wiggins' playmaking.
And honestly - for those of you clamoring for Melvin Ejim. Aaron Doornekamp does much of the same and might even have a better professional resume (3 years in the EuroLeague). I'm not gonna say Doornekamp (past his prime) is better than Ejim - but he is fairly similar (defensive toughness, versatility, FIBA experience) and is less the drop off as many think.
I'd toss Edey out if I wasn't so worried about the size of the Euro bigs and the game tactic differences (and why Klassen actually had a role here).
And there is a BIG difference between guys who played a FIBA tournament one every year or two and guys who play FIBA day in and day out like Klassen, Doornekamp and TBH. Nurse I think knows this, and I'd be surprised of Doornekamp and TBH are not on the final 12. How many times in the past did he riff on the need for FIBA players like Pangos and Ejim on any team?
It is all moot anyway....what are we doing even obsessing over the 11th/12th men on this team? Who really cares? (talking to my self here)
Tell me me more on how you see Nurse using CoJo, NAW, Wiggins, Barrett and Dort together. How vulnerable are we defensively with a Powell, Lyles, Nicholson front line? Can Wiggins play the 4 in FIBA? Does Nurse run with CoJo and NAW at the same time? How do you deploy Dort defensively? Is he a liability on offense? Is Lyles going to be hot garbage or one of the best bigs in this tournament? Can we properly utilize a one dimensional Powell?
