Yeah, seems unlikely Barnes will be a big scorer. If we draft him at 4 over Suggs I assume it comes with a Siakam trade so he can play the 4, or we're just going all in on a Barnes-Siakam-OG frontline and go all in on smallball. Tough to see a Center/Siakam/Barnes/OG/VanVleet lineup not being in the bottom 5 on offense, right?

I could see us loving Keon Johnson's tools and mentality too, wouldn't rule out an Orlando trade with them having 5 and 8 and two young centers in Carter Jr and Bamba and us having #4. Only thing against it really is that they have guards so might not be as all in on Suggs as some teams.

Barnes is 6'9 with a massive wingspan. I don't see a problem playing him at small ball C or as wing. Definitely need a spacing big man like Kelly O if we play him as a wing. But the defense and transition game with OG/ Barnes/Siakam would be deadly.

Watching the Warriors this year showed us how much the lack of spacing can hinder an offense. They couldn't even get it done with the greatest shooter on their team with Baze shooting 40% and Wiggins shooting 38%. If Pascal continues to be a 30% shooter, and Barnes will most definitely be a sub 30% shooter for his first year and maybe longer, I don't see how this works for us either. I think in today's NBA you can have 1 poor shooter on the floor, but not two.

Inclined to agree, yeah. Bottom line, we don't have a reliable creator and Suggs seems like he might become one, so I hope we take him.

We need a scorer or someone that can get the offense moving and also able to score.

No more athletic wings that can’t shoot. We’re already developing Stanley Johnson. No more projects. Draft SUGGS

Zo was probably the better prospect coming out of college but the thing people love about Suggs is his competitiveness and the way he plays in big moments. He also played on a stacked team.

And his shot isn’t broken like Zo’s which will translate better to the NBA.

Zo’s shooting had to basically go through surgery once he got in the league

Here’s what Lonzo was assessed like as a prospect. I personally think if Suggs and Lonzo were in the same draft, Suggs would’ve been picked over Ball

Suggs is a bit shorter but weighs 15 lbs more than Lonzo when he was drafted. Suggs has a really strong build

Ball has an outstanding combination of size, length, and athleticism, but his frame is not filled out yet, and he can struggle with more physical guards at times … This also hinders his ability to consistently get into the paint off the dribble … Wears a leg sleave and his legs appear to be underdeveloped

Lonzo had zero shot. Suggs over him all day for me.

Suggs player better defence while Lonzo was the better offensive player. They're both equal but I would give the edge to Suggs cause the Lakers were in the lottery that year and which was why he was hyped too much.

Lonzo was the only prospect with hype that draft class, he was a disappointment considering the expectations for him at UCLA (similar to Wiggins at Kansas). Tatum was under the radar and Fultz only started getting media attention near the end of the college season.

If Suggs was in that draft he goes first.

Money wise it wouldn’t work without a player coming with the pick and I think Fred should have more value than just the pick alone anyways. He’s on a pretty decent contract and is only 27 while bringing lots of intangibles and leadership. Basically exactly what NOP needs

I’d ask for at least NAW+10+2023 unprotected FRP for FVV (just checked and that works). Fred is a pretty valuable asset considering his age/experience and contract

The Jrue Holiday trade basically set the precedent for 2 way guards and Fred is locked in a contract and younger than Jrue
