KyShawn is already 20 years old and averaging 7.3 ppg.

Melvin Ajinca is 19.5 and playing pro at 6'8 too and at least averaging 9.7 ppg. And he's jacked.

I'm not really concerned about the age, moreso the tools and skills. People were saying the same thing about Brandon Miller's age last year (granted Miller was producing with larger usage). But George is not that much older than Williams (11 months). His numbers prorated over the same number of minutes played (29.9) are pretty comparable 10.8 points 4.1reb 2.7ast vs 15.1pts 3.5reb 1.9ast.

my dream is we win the lottery and take Cody Williams 1#

then Masai packages our picks IND 17# + additional 2024 first rounder + IND 2026 first rounder (any whatever else is needed) to acquire a second pick at #9-10 overall..for Ivisic

All of a sudden rebuild is finished in a couple months..

PG - Quickley
SG- Barrett
SF- Williams
PF- Barnes
C- Ivisic

:o :)

We need our pick…we gotta bring Ivisic home!!

Big Z looks like THE perfect C for this team and massive potential.

To anyone following the draft, do you think picks 20-32 have strong talent?

OG was drafted 23rd and Siakam was drafted 27th so I'm wondering if there's hidden gems like this.

There’s always at least one hidden gem. Just gotta hope we land one. Fortunately for us, we are currently set to have at least 3 shots at it. Although I doubt we keep all the picks. Probably combine them in a big trade or package them to move up which are also good moves

Just hoping that Masai gets his drafting magic back and has a big time draft this year.

I count a little over 20 players that kind of fit the long athletic forward/center mold. At least half of them not worth drafting.

Haven't looked deep enough yet, but so far I'd go with something like Zvonimir Ivisic, Jaylon Tyson, Melvin Ajinca/Wooga Poplar, Ulrich Chomche (draft and stash in G-league).

Sign Olynyk in the off-season and a back-up PG/guard if we don't have one.

We can't predict who will be a steal. NBA teams can't. So why would we? Denver took Erik Green before Jokic.

I just generally think it should be someone that has some aspect that you would really doubt would work in the NBA, like too short, too fat, too tall, too slow. And then, typically that player should be dominant. So start with players you hate that are projected to go later on and think about why you might be wrong.

It's going to happen

We broke Houston's 20 game losing streak, we were rewarded with a top 4 pick
We broke Detroit's 27 game losing streak, we will be rewarded with a top 4 pick

First time hearing/seeing this guy. I get some Jaime Jaquez vibes, or maybe it's the long(ish) hair.

Draft Fillipowski. He's like JV/Poeltl/Olynyk with better ball-handling. Hopefully teams see his low-ceiling but ignore his high floor and we can draft him with the OKC/LAC pick in the 20's. I guess try for Salaun with the Pacers pick.

If Reed Sheppard fell to the Pacers 1st pick, would you draft him even though we have IQ?

It would be like the Blazers situation with Lillard and McCollum or Wall and Beal, small backcourt. I guess similar to Jason Kidd and Steve Nash, though Kidd is big enough to guard SG's. Does IQ's wingspan make him the SG?

PG Reed - IQ
SG IQ - Ajinca
SF Barrett - Dick/Salaun
PF Barnes - Jontay - Salaun
C Poeltl - Fillipowski - Jontay

Reed Sheppard will be 20 when drafted as a rookie but damn... his 2.5 steals to only 1.6 fouls is Kawhi like savant on defense. Maybe like John Stockton meet Nash with hops?

He seems like he’d be a solid pick in my opinion as well.

Gladly. But he’s not falling that far

Ya, Detroit #31. I would look at Melvin Ajinca with the OKC/LAC 1st pick.

He reminds me more of Stocton's teammate Jeff Hornacek (he even kind of looks like him with the poofy hair). Hornacek was an undersized (6'3) shooting guard that was a lightsout shooter (career 40% from three) who could make some plays for others (career 4.9 asts), and was a tough-nosed defender (1.4 stls per game).

I don't think Reed is a natural point guard right now, at least not the kind of point guard that Nash or Stocton were. Could he develop into one, possibly. But if you take him that high, you have to be willing to live with the risk that he's an undersized 2 guard and not say, a Steph Curry or Jamal Murray type of PG.
