Orlando probably gets signed for the balance of the year.

This team isn't close to making any sort or noise, and we just gave up a 1st. I'd rather have used the pick to move up in the draff if Masai didn't want to keep it. Puke worthy trade IMO.

I would think this would be to sign Orlando Robinson. Poeltl is hurt and no Kelly O means trouble protecting the rim. Orlando at least has moments.

At minimum it should have been worse of the 2026 firsts. I guess Masai going with his own bet on yourself.
Now I’m just praying they don’t mess up their 2025 pick.

It’s because he doesn’t fit the roster.
Players will clog up the lane daring him and RJ to shoot the ball. Not to mention he’s a ball dominant player. He’s going to try and force his game and in this system in won’t work.
We should tank the season and get a high pick in a very talented draft.
Not throw our chips into a team that would struggle to get out of the first round of a playoff series.

We had a roster spot for Orlando already, we have one more now and still space to take on a little more money

For me, the issue is why a team that is so strong at drafting sells a pick every year (25 -1st+ 2nd, 24 - 1st, 23-1st). For Ochai, Poeltl and Ingram. I don't think any other team is forced to burn assets like that so often.

So he is both not going to work in the system here and also hurt the tank.
Also people making it seem like this is training camp and whole season ahead of us. In reality 2/3 of the season is done, and by the time he suits up there will be 20ish games left in season.

Unless the Pacers have injuries, that pick is guaranteed to end up in the late teens/early 20s. Trading it isn't a big deal. I still don't get the point of the trade, but I'm not losing any sleep over what we gave up.
