imho, the biggest mistake was trying to develop scottie as a shooter when he shouldve been working in the post and elbow only. basically a barkley type of player with webber type passing.

this has nothing to do with today's game. just how ive seen stuff overall.

it's a lot of what russ described with pat bev. just running around doing nothing.

this franchise puts a lot of onus on trying to broaden skillsets but as you said, that comes at a cost too.

I don't see how you can blame the team for trying to develop him as a shooter. If you're not a C in this league, you basically have to be able to shoot. There's 2 guys that aren't C's that can dominate without being able to shoot. They both happen to have generational type athleticism (Giannis and Zion).

what i meant was making him purely and outside in player when you can slowly add catch and shoot 3s after youve established him as a 15 feet and in hub/scorer. but they basically abandoned that after his rookie year thinking they can mold him into a giannis type of attacker with a 3 but that hasnt worked.

What makes you think he would have established himself as a hub scorer? He hasn't shown an aptitude for scoring efficiently at basically anything outside of mismatches in the post on smaller wings.
