But no. :nonono:

Masai is more incompetent than I thought.

They won't fire him the day after lol. Will happen in the coming weeks. Maybe after the finals. Nobody else has fired a coach yet either.

Yea forgot about Brooks. They didn't make the playoffs though. It will probably take a little longer for playoff teams. It could happen soon those coaches meetings and mangement meetings are probably taking place in the next few days. Lets just hope Masai pulls the plug. Its just difficult with 2 years left on his deal. MLSE hates spending money but they often waste it! Funny how that works.

but they missed it by like 1 game, due to massive injuries to two potential MVPs, and an all-star pf.

and before that they were a playoff juggernaut for a few years... he started when they were **** and they were legitimate contenders...

casey has done nothing, and its gotten worse, has no control, respect, and the most embarrasing playoff series sweep i can ever recall. he should be fired immediately, there is no question about it, now its just dragging things out. IF masai brings back casey, MLSE will take a huge fan hit.

There was discussions of Brooks being fired mid season and even before that. Outside of our own fan base nobody thought Casey might get fired until we got swept in the playoffs.

For me its an easy choice. Casey even admitted he couldn't get the players to commit to the defensive end. That should be all Masai needs to pull the plug.

Honestly, the way some of you talk is like the woman you loved all this time was cheating on you. The reality is, we raised our expectations a little too high. But it's still a pretty good basketball team with a pretty good coach. The end.

And this is a great illustration of the issue. The Raptors are the perfect treadmill team (good enough to make the playoffs, but not good enough to do anything there) and there are more than enough fans just like you who are fine with that. That lessens the incentive for any kind of real change.

Yeah, but I know people like you. You're never happy. It's a basketball team, nothing more. The end was disappointing, but they brought me a lot of joy along the way. I'd love them to win the championship every year, but I'm not going to wallow in misery if they don't, and I'm not going to **** on my team at the start of the season just so I can say I told you so at the end. I'm not judging you. If that makes you "happy", do it. I'm just not going to feel bad because I'm not like you.

The team completely fell apart from January on and collapsed into a complete depressing mess for half the season. Glad you could derive some joy out of that, but I guess standards are real low around here.

Not to beat a dead horse, but it's a basketball team. It's the equivalent of a book or a movie or a meal in a restaurant. If it turns out below my expectations, I shrug and move on. Just because every post I make isn't about how everything and everyone sucks and will suck forever, or how I am going to boycott the team doesn't mean I have low standards. It might just mean I have other things going on in my life.

Good to know. Although repeatedly making posts here about how much you don't care about something is probably not the best way to show you don't care about something.

For what it's worth guys, my team got swept as well. But purely because of your fanbase I'm slowly becoming a Raptors fan.

I might not be able to root for the product on the court, but I can root for the fans of the franchise.

You guys truly have the best fan base in the NBA. And by far the funniest one on RealGM (I never go to the NYK board so maybe they're good too, that's why I stopped short of saying best on RealGM).

It could be. As an outsider looking at your roster and cap situation, there are a few options for growth but they must be pursued with great humility and diligence. Masai has skills as a GM but his arrogance gets in the way and that has been on full display in Toronto. Not all of his "finds" will pan out. He needs to spend more time addressing that the Raps are not top heavy enough in talent and that their style of play doesn't win playoff games and less time trash talking before playoff series.

I couldn't give two **** about whether Masai trash talks before a playoff series, nor do I understand why anybody else would either. Has absolutely nothing to do with how he does his job at all.
