Canada leads Brazil 45:34 at halftime. Wiltjer with 16 has a free license to shoot in this team. As mentioned above, we don't really HAVE to win, but would still be nice to seal it with style.

halfway through the third, Canada 57, Brazil 43. The Scrubb brothers are playing well.

Notice , Landry and Rana are making me eat my words tonight. All have been terrific

This is one of the most satisfying Canada games I've ever watched

Wiltjer is so talented. Lima and Varejo are a pretty good defensive duo for this level of ball and neither can attempt to guard him

Best over Brady was a great call by Rana.

So it's official now. We're in the WC.

Canada 94, Brazil 67. Surprising how easy this was. I was in the game in Laval and we had to work hard for the win against a similar Brazilian unit. And we had some of our NBA guys...

In a game like this, everyone looks good. But especially Wiltjer with 25, Phil Scrubb with 15 and 6 assists, and Tommy Scrubb with 14 and almost perfect from the field. Notice and Landry also good with 10 each.

Well forget all those permutations.

We did it the Canadian way - smashed that damn door into a million pieces scattered all over the Barrios.

Great team win.

Beijing here we come.

Great win!!

I was trying to avoid looking at the score as I couldn't watch it live. I was going to turn it on when I got home - but I couldn't help peeking at the score!

I found out today that we had a major delay getting to Venezuela and the guys didn't even get in until hours before the game with little to no sleep. No wonder they looked so much better today.....

In the other game, Venezuela pulls a win over the Virgin Islands after being down 5 with 10 seconds to go... (two "and 1" plays).

This means that we'll probably need to win our last game against them by 8 or more to finish first. Not that it matters too much, but would still be nice.

Great news. The one nice thing about the format is that it allowed so many players to suit up for the squad to qualify.

Just going through the list of how many players participated in qualifying is pretty damn awesome. Much respect to everyone who played in and coached the Men's Basketball team.
"I definitely knew he traveled, but I didn't know they were going to call it. That was one of them situations in which a great player made a move...and they called the call. And I was like, 'Oh, man, there is a God.'

Got to hand out some props to U Sports ( CIS )

This team had 5 U Sports players - both Scrubb's, Morgan, Best and Kadre Gray as well most of the coaching staff has U Sports experience.

Basketball in Canada is improving in all facets including at the Canadian University level - hopefully the casual basketball fan in Canada starts to understand this.

This is amazing. The whole org should get props for getting us here - especially the guys who helped compete in these non-summer windows.

Really curious to see who we field in the last window - I have to assume Canada is going to want to spend the minimum fielding the final two games.

Edit: Anyone have highlights from the Venezuela game or tonight's? Really bummed that I didn't get a chance to watch either of them especially today's considering the significance.

I wouldn't be opposed to seeing Anthony on the World Cup team as the fifth post/twelfth man.

My favorite part of the game was when he switched onto Barbossa and kept moving his feet as the Brazilian Blur ( still very quick) tried to break him down ending with a turnover.

He's not much offensively , but he still can D up , switch and block shots.
